Effects of Failure

We all deal with the idea of failure at some point in our lives. I really shouldn’t say “some” point but “many” points in our lives. It doesn’t matter if you are a baby just learning to walk or middle age working on a new project or charting uncharted territory in your life; failure is inevitable.
I am not trying to sound like a downer but it’s the truth.
The question of the hour is “how does failure affect you?”
Failure can affect someone in a couple of different ways. (Take account on what failure does to you as you read this)
1) Failure can cause someone to quit or cause discouragement that will bring that person and their task to a stop.
This is of course negative but happens in the majority of people’s lives that meet failure. If this fits you, you are in the majority of our population when it comes to dealing with failure. (This is too much of a downer… moving on…)
2) Failure can cause someone to be stronger than ever.
This is not the majority of the population but these are the people that make things happen. Do you think Thomas Edison succeeded the first time he messed with electricity or any of the other inventions that this great man created? No Way… But do you think it made him quit.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” -Thomas Edison
Other greats such as Winston Churchill didn’t quit..
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” -Winston Churchill
I hope, for your sake, that you fit in the minority category if you are ever going to succeed in life. I am not talking about just the financial aspect of life here but any aspect that you can think of. What do you do when failure comes your way? Do you tuck your tail and run? Do you face it and move on while learning from the experience?
Assess yourself right now, this very minute!
Now create your goals moving forward and stick to it. Don’t give in and don’t give up!
