MailChimp Does Not Have a Free Autoresponder

Some marketers continue to recommend MailChimp saying it has a free autoresponder, but these people have obviously never used the service and are spewing bad information obtained from who knows where.

MailChimp does not have a free autoresponder.

MailChimp does offer a limited, free service where emails can be sent, but the autoresponder option is not included.

To use the MailChimp autoresponder service you must pay a monthly fee.

A PO Box is Fine for CAN-SPAM Requirements

I recently came across an email service saying a PO Box was not lawfully allowed when sending emails. (My review of the service is here.)

This is incorrect.

CAN-SPAM states that when sending commercial email the sender needs to include their "valid physical postal address".

Since 2008 the FTC has said you can use a street address, or a PO Box, or a private mail box / account registered with a commercial mail receiving agency....

If you use AWeber as your autoresponder you get 500 subscribers within your initial plan. As soon as you hit 501 subscribers you begin paying additional monthly fees of $10 per month.

(If you do not want to pay monthly fees just because you have new subscribers you should get an autoresponder like this one.)

Why You Can't Spin Articles From Article Directories

Some general rules of thumb:

1. Article directory articles are copyrighted by the person who wrote the article.

2. Changing a few words in an article by substituting synonyms for another word do not create a new article. It is still considered the same article even if some words are different.

3. Wholesale spinning and replacing words with synonyms may create a new article, but that is called a derivative work. Per US copyright law only the original article...
