A website privacy policy is a disclosure of what, if anything, you do with private information from users.

Private information includes a user's email address and other contact information, and of course financial data. It may also include the fact someone has purchased a product from you.

A privacy policy does not require that you keep information private! The policy merely discloses what you do with that information.
