Getting Massive Traffic Out Of Forums
Posted 7th August 2009 at 09:15 AM by rapidscc
If you are a member of any forum and yet you wonder where you can get a lot of massive traffic for your sites, then I'll tell you that you are sitting on a gold mine.
The secret of massive traffic is to go where the traffic is. If you want to be hit by a car would you be standing in the desert? Probably not.
In this entry I'll tell you how to get massive traffic from forums. Some of what I'll write will go against what you're accustomed to. A lot of the instructions will definitely require work so I'll advice you right now to be patient and practice persistence in doing this and I promise, with enough time you'll get the hits you need.
Rule #1
Respect what a Forum is. A Forum is primarily an internet discussion board. Not a place to peddle your products.
The reason why you are in a forum is to express opinion, get ideas and to learn. You should not focus on making money when in a forum. There will be opportunities that will open up where you can mention or recommend a paid solution but you should not go on actively creating a situation for it. People will sense your true intentions and if it's no good, you won't get any traffic at all.
Rule #2
Help as much forum members as you can. Don't be sarcastic with newbies, remember you were once or still are like them.
And who knows, that newbie could have a very big list.
If someone needs a good "whack" to behave it's the moderators job not yours. Simply report it then move along.
Also as much as possible be nice. Express your opinions with as much compassion as possible. If you're a known agitator, what would be the reason for people to have any interest on you.
Rule #3
As much as possible try recommending free resources to solve member's problems. If you continually recommend paid solutions to every problems that you want to help on, members will lose interest in your recommendations, and you'll lose forum traffic.
You will get more credibility in recommending paid solutions if members know that it's always your last resort. And if it's a really desperate problem, people will have an easier time deciding to spend their money with you.
As you can see these are just three rules or guidelines. It seems easy but in reality it will take you maybe about a year before you get enough credibility in a forum. But when that happens guess who'll be the go to guy? You!
Last Rule:
Learn how to create a very enticing signature. All your efforts will be wasted if members don't know how to get to your sites.
To your success!
