Barter done effectively can take business to new levels, can bring in new customers and leave more liquid capital in the business. In today's current economic turmoil, you have to begin to think outside the box as a business owner, in order to keep your business afloat.

And all those are reasons why you and your business need to be using barter.

Used effectively barter can move idle inventory. Your business has stock that isn't moving, not only are you losing out because you have to store the stock, when you finally get it out to the public odds are it is at a much reduced price. Not with barter.

With barter you can list your idle inventory at retail prices and get it moving, and stop paying for the wasted space, and then use the barter dollars for something else your business needs or can use.

You can reach new markets. The barter world is still relatively small. This means that if you are the only one on the exchange that offers say printing, everyone on the exchange will come to you to have their printing done. Thus bringing you customers you never would have gotten in the cash market.

The higher your margins the better you can do with barter. If your widget only costs $2 to make but retails for $10, every single widget you sell on barter just made you $8 dollars. And because people are that much less concerned with spending barter dollars you will find many that wouldn't have bought your product before will now do it without a second thought! You can literally begin minting your own barter dollars, utilizing your product margins and new found customers.
Increasing your cash flow. When you don't have to spend cash on items, but can spend your barter dollars instead, you are left with that much more cash in your business, cash that is now available to be used elsewhere. Plus like in the above example, now every $10 of barter dollars you spent, only cost you $2 cash dollars you have further reduced your cash expenses, improving your bottom line!

So why aren't you and your business utilizing barter. It is there to be used, and when used properly can take your business to new levels. Stop thinking trading apples for oranges, start thinking, leaving cash in your pocket! And more customers to your company.
