Studying several offline marketing businesses and people who were interested in offline marketing I've noticed these 5 reasons why offline marketers fail.

Reason 1: Not having a target market in mind

Stupid as it seems, I see it all the time. A person on a limited budget and with limited time takes the spray and pray approach to marketing. They shoot their "bullets" (time, talent, & money) at anything that moves and at the end of they day they are out of bullets and still without clients.

I am not going to rehash my how to find clients thread but spend a few minutes and read it. Once you understand who you want to go after you have to decide how you want to do it.

If you’re on a limited budget I recommend making a list of the top 100 businesses you want to work with. Once you have that list you can do several things mentioned in this article to reach out to them. You can get a list of local US and Canadian businesses for $20 here.

For example one of my students used a single technique to make over $3,000 a week while eating lunch. In fact he has only used this single method to fund his entire business. You can find out more about it here.

Reason 2: Selling Something They Aren't Interested In

Next to not having a target market, the next stupid thing offline marketers do is try to sell something that business owners have no interest in. I didn’t want to do that so I put together a dirt cheap system of being able to get into a business owners head and find out what they’re biggest marketing problems were without trying to sell them anything. I got a great response, 25 hot leads, and 3 jobs off this one tool that cost me about $22 to do. You can find more out about it here.
