A description of my ups and downs in a journey from total newbie to successful IM marketer that will benefit other newbies.

Lessons learned so far

The lessons that I learned are as follows:
. Don't spend a year or more in creating a product. Just decide on a niche and create a short ebook or report. If I had to start all over again, I would definitely do these things first.
. Try to get a report written in a week or less. Then plan no more than two more weeks for editing it. In the meantime, work on a sales letter and/or opt-in page.
. Take time in creating a good domain as well as finding a great webhost. I've been using Aplus.net, but have recently signed up with Bluehost.com and am satisfied. Had an unpleasant experience with justhost.com and am warning all to avoid that host at all costs.
. Realize that any activity can take longer than you anticipate. Your progress as a newbie will tend to be in fits and starts.
Do some work on your project every day.
