You might be able to create a Google group that would serve the same purpose as an email list and allow you to communicate with your readers.

You can find out more how to do that and integrate the sign up form on your Blogger style blog here.

Yes you can build an email list. I'd suggest buying web hosting and working from Wordpress. It gives people a sense that you are serious. If you are just starting out, what I would recommend to you is purchase some web hosting, it's not very expensive from there you can purchase something like OptimizePress and build a landing page in whatever your niche is. From there offer something of value in exchange for email addresses. From there you can build a relationship with your subscribers and it turn recommend products that you believe can help them.

Agreed. Get off Blogger as soon as you can. Forward your traffic to a domain and web site that you control 100%. Get serious about business. Blogger is not the platform you want if you intend to be taken seriously and want to project a professional business.

Amazingly, I still see high traffic blogs being hosted on Blogger (with a TLD) and it makes me wonder what those people will be doing when Blogger shuts their blog(s) down. No blog is immune on Blogger as it's their property.

There are people who do, but it's very inadvisable indeed.

Posts #6 and #26 (and some others) in this thread explain why, in some detail: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...wordpress.html

If you really need to use free hosting, a self-hosted WordPress blog (somewhere like freehostia.com, byethost.com or 000webhost.com) is a far better alternative. It keeps you in control of your own business and avoids all the risks and problems and "accidents" of using Blogger which are explained throughout that thread. And it looks a lot more professional, too, as Steve wisely mentions just above.

You want to have a domain for your traffic. You can start off with a hosting site like hostgator (Website Hosting Services, VPS Hosting & Dedicated Servers - HostGator) and install WordPress. WordPress is very easy to use and is compatible with emails repsponders such as AWeber. Once you set up your opt-in, you can track your subscribers and manage and build your list on AWeber.

    Hope that helps,

This should not be a problem with most of the big autoresponder companies, do you have an autoresponder account now?

I'm not going to lie, It'd be a much easier process if you were running with Wordpress on this on vs. Blogger. Also as others have said... Hosting your own blog but if that's not financially possible for you you can go with free cpanel hosting.

You can use free subcribe available in blogger to capture email of the audience, the con of this free tool is you can only send latest blog post to the subcriber. Or you can use the free service like Mailchimp, free upto 2500 email monthly.

Blogger is not optimized for internet marketing, that's why you might not be able to see an optin plugin available. Wordpress is far better in that way.

What you could do is creating a page an put the optin form on it, then link to it from the menu as well as from your "about me" since those are always visible.

I too use blogger to run numerous one post blogs to market my ebay and amazon product selections. On blogger, you cannot really use plugins, so it is advisable to simply make a link to your own email account that you can make specifically for that blog. Encourage people to email you for a free offer of some type. Also, I think wordpress has free blogs you can use, I haven't tried them but they may have more features than google blogger.

What you want is to take control of your business. Depending on something else is always a bad idea. You can use a web hosting service such as blue host and get your domain directly with them.

Also, get a separate auto responder such as Pure Leverage or Aweber. When starting an online business you want to have everything organised and in order!

Remember, your list is your most important asset!
