What should be the offer frequency to the list? I have just started and sent my third email yesterday! First one was a review and later were quality content.

Email Marketing questions live here: Email Marketing

In most of my niches, I normally send email on days 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15, and thereafter at 5-day intervals, with a product recommendation in one email out of every three, occupying the second half (or last third) of the email. (I'm counting day 1 as the day after they subscribed, which is "day 0", on which I've sent them my first email containing - among other things - the download link for the "free report" or whatever it's called.)

There's no "right answer" to this question, though. It's just about what works best for you, Shantanu. It tends to depend on your traffic demographics, how you attracted the traffic, how you opted in them in, what you gave them "for opting in", and how much they already know to start with. It may even depend a bit on the niche, as well (though I've never noticed much difference, according to that, myself).

People always tell you to "test", but of course that's not very helpful advice when you're just starting off, don't yet have enough subscribers to do any meaningful split-tests and don't even know what to test, is it?

Generally, you form your own impressions as you go along, of what seems to be working for you. My own experience across a wide range of different niches has been, more or less, that the less I "try to sell", the more successful sales I make.

One of the most common mistakes that beginning affiliate marketers make is "trying too hard to sell", in my opinion.

Selling is for the vendors: our job is simply to send targeted traffic to their sales pages, and to have chosen their sales pages wisely so as to match our own subscriber demographics: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post2161932

      Great advice from Lexy.

There really is no rule or set standard for frequency of emails. I personally believe that you should gauge your frequency on the type of business you have and the reason for emailing.

If your business is a stock alert service, once a day or even more often, could be the answer. Most won't send that often.

Personally, I like to send on certain days of the week, like maybe Monday and Thursday. Many send on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Others send once a week or even every two weeks. I think what's important is to "coach" your list into expecting your email to arrive with regularity (and by sending on certain days, that regularity is reinforced) and then stick to that expectation.

It doesn't mean you can't send a "special alert" or other out-of-sequence email . . . but I would advise to keep those very limited. I used to be on a guy's list until he stated emailing with the headline "This is the most important email you will ever receive" - and I got that same headline multiple times from him - very annoying!

It's not a bad idea to ask your list how often they would like to hear from you. There will be lots of different answers but you can judge about how often is best for most of your list. Also, I have heard of marketers segmenting their list and mailing at different frequencies depending upon the list expectation and responsiveness - more work, but remember you're doing this for your customers' benefit. It's not about you.

Just remember to always send emails that you would like to receive yourself (high quality and relevant), respect your subscriber's privacy, and don't ask for money every time you mail!

      The best to you,

      Steve

Honestly, it depends on your niche and how well you build your relationship with them.

    I usually do this:
    1. Day 1 - Email with the download link to their freebie
    2. Day 2 - Reminder to download the freebie if they haven't yet, and an offer for help or offer to answer any questions
    3. Day 3 - Usually a motivational email OR video on youtube
    4. Day 5 (yes, I wait 2 days at this point) - Offer them something of VALUE they can use and apply to their niche (making money online, a trick for losing a few lbs, etc)
    5. Day 7 - Follow up to ask if they put into action what I showed them in email 4 - and a suggestion to check out *THIS PRODUCT* which should help them take things a bit further. This is USUALLY my first promo email
    6. Day 9 - 2nd email promoting the same product
    7. Day 12 - Another helpful or motivational email

You get the idea - you really have to get to know your list and how they respond to you - BUT if you take the time to respond to their emails, help them out and show them you care - you're going to get a much higher conversion rate and therefore, more money in the end :-)

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for this helpful information! I am in early stages of building relationship and wanted to build trust first then will offer relevant products once in a while.

Emails should be sent every day there is no hard and fast rule its all about the interaction and developing interest in your email subscribers. Try to do some research on how can you develop and interesting relationship with your subscribers.

I will do some research but though it's good relationship people wouldn't like daily interaction as everyone doesn't have to read emails!

I used to send articles to my list almost every 2 days.

Then, at the end of each article I would include some sort of a link to a product I was an affiliate of.

This strategy works really well in my view.

    You are doing 2 things:

    1. You are giving your list value with your article.
    2. You are giving them a link so that you can make some sales from each email.
