Snapchat announces new video ad format

Marketing Land reports that Snapchat has announced a new video ad format called Extended Play Commercials. This new ad maintains the 6-second non-skippable format, but will let advertisers extend ad runtime for up to three minutes.

And like YouTube's TrueView ads, Extended Play Commercials have the option to let users skip ads after six seconds. The difference is that with YouTube, ads appear before a video plays while Extended Play Commercials appear mid-roll.
