Pro List Building Tip: Easy Way To Get "FREAKIN' LOADS" Of Subscribers

If you run a blog, then you probably have some kind of opt-in form.. either on the sidebar, at the bottom of the article or at the top of the page.

If you're smart, you'll have all 3.

Plus a lightbox popup that will trigger on exit intent.

So, I'm assuming you are smart and you already have that stuff set up.

Go you.

This next tip requires you to create just a little bit more content for your blog posts.. and use that specific content as a lead magnet within the copy itself. See an example I made here.

As you can see, in an article that criticises the frequent exaggerated and 'over-hyped promises of instant wealth', there's an area that's been highlighted.. offering readers the blueprint for a realistic and sustainable business model, if they opt-in - the antidote, if you like, to the problem.

All blog posts would contain a solution, or an expansion to what you're discussing.

Checklist and cheat-sheets work particularly well.
  • Write blog post
  • Create cheat-sheet / checklist PDF
  • Highlight area of post with 2-step opt-in

You don't have to create a new list for each blog post, and you don't have to set up custom download pages for each blog post.

There are many Wordpress plugins out there that can make the process easy for you.

    If done right, it's a powerful strategy.

    My hack is to use an iframe or jquery to keep the whole opt-in process within the bounds of the initial offer, so they don't lose where they are in the post.

    Can you share some opt in plugins that you use for Wordpress? Are they paid? I'm using WP Pop Up for my site. I like the iframe idea. I'm really looking to get subscribers as well for my new affiliate site. I have lots of content with a sign up on the right side of my blog which collect emails. All help appreciated.

    But you're right- this is a great strategy to help get a higher conversion rate!
    Most bloggers would not have to create a unique checklist/cheatsheet for every post. If you look at most blogs, they tend to break down into a handful of major topics. If you're a prolific poster, having one really good lead magnet for each major topic could be enough.

    If you already have history, start by creating downloads for your most popular posts and go on from there.

    Truth be told, I don't use plugins. I use a bit of javascript to add the code to the page directly. The only parameter is the name of the file with the specific offer.
