Hello, Warriors, I am back... But to what am I back?

My name is Dennis, and I have been a warrior here since 2002, 21 years. I have been marketing and designing websites online since 1998. I have experienced both success and failures along the way. Over the years, I have launched numerous websites and took a break to prioritize spending time with my family.

However, in December 2021, I tragically lost my wife of 34 years to cancer. Now, with my kids all grown up, I am embarking on a new chapter with my newlywed wife Becca, who has been a teacher for the past 21 years. Together, we are reentering the game.

But what I'm witnessing is disheartening... There are AWESOME sales letters that reel you in, only to be bombarded with 12 OTOs.

And then the product? Mediocre at best.

What has this industry come to? Where has the ethical and moral conscience gone?

I cannot, in good conscience, promote this junk. I want to make money online again, but not at the risk of becoming unethical to do so.

I asked in a thread for any good products out there and received only one recommendation: Wealthy Affiliate. Is that all? Aren't there any other products worthy of promotion?

All I want is a few honest products that deliver results, which I can promote in good conscience, not just those out to make sales.

Regards,
Dennis and Becca

    Hi Dennis, welcome back!

The obvious question is, with all your experience, why don't you come up with some products of your own? It's a lot easier with today's tech to put together reports, eBooks, videos and courses than it was back in the day.

The other question is what are you focusing on? In your other thread you ask about affiliate membership sites. Is that only where you want to go? Of course, there's plenty of rubbish in the market, but there are enough good products and tools out there if you want to widen your net a little.

      Hello Frank,

Thank you for your reply. As I mentioned above, I have been out of the game since around 2007, and a lot has changed. Currently, I am in the process of creating something and am searching for products or services worthy of promotion. That's why I was asking for recommendations. I have purchased four different products, but I can't promote them with good conscience.

I am in search of solid products that genuinely help people. If there's something that, when followed, can help them make money, I'd be interested in learning more about it.

      Regards,
      Dennis and Becca

This is what I find bothersome about this forum and the
topic in general, whenever online or affiliate marketing
is discussed, people seem to automatically think of
MMO products, sales funnels, hosting, PLR, etc.

These categories are saturated with a lot of garbage
that isn't even worth being bothered with, especially
for older people who are retired and want something
worthwhile to do and to supplement their pensions,
not deal in spammy riff raff that is a waste of time.

I suggest you go to any of the major affiliate networks
and find reputable products people need, such as
insurance, mortgage, travel, or other things I won't go
into here, but there are hundreds of great things, you
just have to look for them.

I am sure that you and your teacher wife can devise
methods to promote legitimate products and services
that you can feel good about, that could generate
substantial income, not just a few dollars here and
    there.

There are also other ways to earn passive income
    besides affiliate marketing.

If you need some refreshers, I recommend that you
watch YouTubes and read business books on this
and try things until you get something going. It may
take a couple of months but it will be worth it.

    Dennis -

You might also browse through the 'warrior path' section here...some good threads such as

    https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...m-nothing.html
(and the links listed on that thread that lead to other great opportunities)

    https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...days-ebay.html

    https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...marketing.html

    https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...24-months.html

Not advising you to DO any of those methods - but it might help you catch up to where we are in IM these days. It is not the same as 10-15 years ago. It's more competitive but the opportunities are there for those that reach for them. You may also notice how many of those 'path' threads are closed because members started and then gave up...that part of IM hasn't changed.

"Affiliate marketing" is only one method and seems to be the one IM newbies focus on. Perhaps because it sounds easy to promote someone else's product - to not have to handle the sale itself or the customer service or delivery.

The products 'back then' were expensive ebooks (some good ones) that featured 'how to MMO' - and products that were courses with CD's (remember those?) and coaching memberships, etc. It was one 'big launch' after another. My guess is you'll need to totally abandon what you thought you would find NOW - and move into new territory.

If you focus on trying to find products for 'new internet marketers' you'll see one questionable product after another - and most people who bought into them will tell you how 'great' they are. They are telling THEIR truth because no one wants to admit they've been 'learning' for years and still don't earn much, if anything.

      Solid recommendation, Kay.

The Warrior Path section is crucial for people looking for 'case studies' so they can see which methods are worth trying or not

You are one of several Old Warriors finding their way back...and I'll ask each of you: What do you bring back? What have you brought with you this time?

See, most will find what they bring along. You wrote:

All I want is a few honest products that deliver results, which I can promote in good conscience, not just those out to make sales.

YOU want to make sales. YOU want the money, eh? YOU have apparently brought back some moral high ground and a good conscience. Which is great.

What have you done when you found a great sales letter and a mediocre product? Have you made an attempt to analyze why it is mediocre, how might it be improved? What is lacking from it? Where you find lack, you find opportunity too.

You may have been out of IM for awhile, but you haven't been out of life, and with the experiences you've had, you just might find some useful history as you share it.

Somewhat new Warrior, savidge4, new since you left, has some brilliant threads, and one of his best ideas is; "document your journey", even the sad and tragic have resonance with others, and rapport is one of the key elements in all of business.

So, maybe...instead of looking for what you want...ask yourself what you have that others might want ... flip the script from GET to GIVE and a lot of answers will come your way.

    Good luck.

    Hey Dennis

This line caught me... I might suggest the products havent change, but the expectation has.

The state of IM today ( as I see it ) is you have a ton of people making courses, and even more selling courses on topics and systems they have never actually used - so basically all hypothetical.

If you think bout that for a moment and a strategy or system is working for you,,, and you are making money - when exactly is there time to lay out a course? ( thats my situation )

It may be just me, but time is better spent ( and probably more profit ) taking a working model and multiplying that system across many fronts.

"Hey im selling this product because it made me successful and I want you to be successful to"? just doesnt sit well, now does it? it feels and sounds fake.. because it probably is. If there is an amount of effort to convince the reader that what is being shared is what put the lambo in the drive way... I would bet that is not the case. Its cups and balls... heres the ball ( success ) move move move... which cup has the ball?

My eBay thread.. I think one could discuss that there is not a better course on eBay to be found the internet over... and its free... I teach people in rel life the same system... and guess what dont charge for it... and the WHY? because it works, and I care. - and not I care so much I will include these free gifts ( haha )

The BEST advice i can give... you already have the skills - kinda sorta nothing has change from when you last did this. What has changed is the platforms used to get your message out. its no longer e-mail its social media.

Pick a product... any product and USE it - Good bad or indifferent DOCUMENT the process. Hey I bought this and I am going to spend the next 30 days implementing the system. Lay out the course you are following step by step, It says do this and that... yesterday i did this and today I did that... all the while have a link to the course.

DO you think if I put together a course for eBay people would buy it? AND that course would be about no different than the thread I have... no hold backs - full on step by step content successes and failures sells the course.

And if the product you purchased absolutely sucks? You care enough to actually tell your readers "Hey, dont buy this"

    Hope that Helps!

It is an unfortunate consequence of the relentless stampede of time -- an' the vanishingly mortal part we play in its eternal story -- that BACK sumtimes occupies our sortin' an' arrangin' of horizons more than NOW or even FORWARD.

So I love the TO here in your speculation.

A natchrl inquiztiveness will always save you from rot -- even if'n your titties been suspended by MISCREANT ACTOR DEVIL TYPES in cheapsy cola drinks for like 3 months as parta an experiment to discovah which flooids peel the most flesha from offya bcs availabyool contact.

Tellya, if'n we ain't forward to evry availabyool next moment, we spazzyin' with time like a make-right, make-good-again God.

So you jus' gotta ride stuff out, I guess.

    Dennis,

sorry to hear of your sad loss. I am pleased that you have found happiness with a new wife.

Regarding products to promote I would recommend Alessandro Zamboni's products.

Just put "Alessandro Zamboni's products" into Google and you will see all of the products he promotes on Warriorplus.

I have purchased a lot of his products and they are all good value - worth a lot more than he asks for.

As another member of this forum has suggested - why not promote your own products?

If you can create landing pages - thats always something people need.

Or create products people will buy based on an urgent problem they are willing to pay for!

If you have had success in the past thats great!

You know what success feels like, and you won't be detered by failures along the way, as you are probably very positive and will learn from each "failure" until you find success again.

I am sure you will be successful and can't wait to hear of your next success story here on the Warrior Forum.

    Kind Regards

    Hey Dennis,

I have been away from WF for a while, myself.

I remember way back 10 years ago when I would buy WSOs and the products were mediocre. Most were absolute trash. I did a lot of refund requests. Eventually, I lost interest in WF because of it.

And yeah, the 12 OTOs thing is ridiculous. After you buy three or four OTOs after the FE product purchase, PayPal puts a freeze on your account. At least they tend to do it to me.

    Dennis,

    Welcome back.

There is no shortage of good products to promote.

The best way to find products that you like and have total confidence in promoting to others is to buy them yourself and see if they are worthy or not.

Invest in them yourself and then make a decision.
