Opt-in with affiliate links

This is probably emarassingly simple (IM 101), but I can't figure out a way to get my visitors to opt-in to my subscriber list at the point where they have made the decision to click on one of my affiliate links on my website. I mean, I get them to opt-in if they choose to download a free report, but most buyers skip the free report and just go for the product I'm promoting.

In other words, I have people visiting my review site, deciding to buy through my link and yet I don't have any automated mechanism where they are given the option to join my subscriber list.

Needless to say I'm very happy with the sales, but I do feel like it's a wasted opportunity not to have them opt-in at the same time.

How about offering them an extra bonus if they buy through your link, an capturing the lead when they come back to claim it?

    best wishes

I've offered bonuses on my site, but the people deciding to buy aren't interested in the bonuses (maybe they're crap bonuses), they never seem to ask for them. The other thing I was hoping to somehow automate the process of an opt-in being offered at a point just after they've clicked my affiliate link, if that's even a good idea?

Small "Free Report" button next to the affiliate link?

Goes to a short squeeze page that says
      ----
The best thing I like about "product" is.....Before you check out <link "product" here> Wanted to make sure you didn't miss this free report I created that helps with .....

Enter your email to get a free copy.

      email:

Your report will be sent to your email address and you will be sent to "product" site immediately as soon as you click the button.
      ----
Just an idea that popped into my head. Don't know if it'll work.

    Here's what you do...

When someone opts in, they are immediately directed to an affiliate offer.

They get the confirmation link and freebie via email.

Problem I am having is that they never get to optin. They visit my review site, make a decision to buy (thank you!), click on my affiliate link and next thing they are taken to Paypal or whatever and I've missed my opportunity to offer joining my list

So don't put the affiliate link on the landing page.

That's called Split Call to Action. And it ain't good.

There was a PHP script that allows you to
set up pitch pages with your affiliate links on them for
ClickBank products. The difference is, when a buyer clicks the link and
then goes on to buy, the script automatically scrapes the buyers name and
email address from data sent by ClickBank back to you as the affiliate, and
then sends them a thank you email.
In that email, you can give them the link to your mailing list sign up form
where they can sign up to collect their bonus.

(*Have found and pm'd you the link to the software - not an affiliate : )

I've never done it but you can try this if you want. Make a different page for each product review that looks like this:

    domain.com/product1

    domain.com/product2

When they click that link to buy the product you have an in between page that has an opt-in box that says something like:

To get more details about the product and get "XXXXXXX" bonus items, enter your email address and click "continue" (actually the submit button).

Then have your autoresponder redirect the person to the affiliate link for the product they want.

You will lose some sales this way, but overall you could have more prospects to promote to.

Additionally, if you don't want to risk losing sales you could put a link underneath the opt-in form that says, "No thanks, I don't want the bonuses...just let me see the product."

It's sort of a one time offer for an opt-in haha.
