Do your products get high conversion?

Its actually not impossible, as you have found out today.

Are you sending TARGETED traffic? Or just any kind of traffic you can get?

If its not targeted then you could have 5000 clicks and 0 sales.

You should bring targeted traffic to your visitors, and is your product highly converting? I suggest you should try search for Amazon best-seller products or those products with positive feedback from the customers.

have learned something. Right now it's
too early, any action you take is premature.

The only problem can be that the traffic isn't targeted enough. You can have an offer for dog poop and if you get 127 people who are looking to fertilize their lawn, one of them will buy.

I agree with both sides there - On one hand, 128 clicks isnt really enough to judge your conversions by.

However if the traffic is targeted enough, you can have 1 click and 1 conversion. I have 1 click & 1 sale for a 100 dollar product that I'm not even promoting, its a OTO to something. So obviously all it takes is 1 highly targeted visitor to convert, even if thats the only click you get. Its happened to me.

I agree with David above, just give it some more time. At least 1000 clicks. Just keep improving content and driving traffic.

Thats clearly not enough clicks for "hard data"

Give it 400 - 500 Clicks min
I would go for 1000

Then you'll have much stronger data points.

Also, install google analytics or any other tracking software
and figure out where those peeps are coming from.

Also, you might need to look at the product itself as well, maybe they're just curious about the product... If the item isn't a good item to purchase online (too bulky, needs professional installation, too expensive, etc.) then you might not be able to convince the visitor to make the purchase...

128 Amazon clicks is pretty much not even worth glancing at twice

If your Amazon account is showing the clicks as occurring then there is nothing wrong with the account or your links.

I have product based amazon autoblogs that clear that in an hour with the same crappy conversion levels, doesnt bother me as I use the search data to build "real" sites that convert at a much better rate.

Skin care is a great niche though and it does perform very well in adsense. The folks I know who do well with skin care are actual users who write very believable and honest copy.

What criteria did you use to pick the products?

I expect a 5% conversion ratio on Amazon based sites that I put any time in designing and selecting products.

I only use adsense if its a low priced item that the 7-8% will be about the same as single click

Amazon has a crap cookie, really does need a rabid buyer, buying terms rather than info terms

but with the comparison format I use, 2 of the 4 blocks pay by click and the 3rd party aff tends to have a much longer cookie life

As mentioned not enough clicks yet but you also need to take into account,

Are you giving your visitor what they are looking for ?

Your content must be top notch and provide them with quality information on the product.

CONTENT IS KING TRAFFIC IS QUEEN

If your content is not good your visitors wont stick around for long, so be sure to ask yourself WOULD I STAY ON THIS SITE and purchase.?

If not then add more value and content because CONTENT will determine if you get the sale or not.

A good review can take you hours to put together, and as I have said many times, Love your visitors and give them what they are looking for and in return they will give you what you want which is a sale

It's quite possible that they are not ready to buy yet and are just window shopping. Sort of like those people who walking in a store to see whats new. They know they want something but are not sure exactly what.

When you send a person to Amazon who is in the buying mood then you are more likely to make a sale.

Did you get 128 clicks to one product, or multiple products?

Thats a pretty cardinal platitude. If you had the clickthroughs "content is blah blah" is not part of the equation for this question. Nor is time on site etc etc. Those all have great relevance, but are extraneous in regards to "why do I have no sales with 127 clicks"

Its certainly to small a dataset (The end) and points to attracting and targeting info seekers rather than buyers.

Hows u r website design? does it look professional or does it look like all the review sites using the "review' wordpress theme, people might be interested in buying the product but each time they search for a review, they find a different site with the same design so they read the review, click on the link to see if it takes them to Amazon as the other 100000 sites did , then they think Hmmmmm why all the sites look the same and they are promoting the product that Amazon sells?

Many users will search for a review because they want to know more abt the product but if all the sites look the same then people won't buy from Amazon since they think its sketchy that all the sites are promoting Amazon, they might even go and think that this is a conspiracy by Amazon.. the key factor is trust so you need a unique design different than the others!

The big question is where is your traffic coming from? If you are promoting 'red rubber balls' on Amazon, but your traffic was looking for 'yellow rubber balls', you wouldn't make many sales.
I find with Amazon it all comes down to having laser targeted traffic. Get people in the buying mindset who are looking for what you are selling. BOOM..instant sales!
That said, January is a slightly slower month online after the Xmas rush, but even so, you still should have made some sales with that amount of traffic.

Amazon only has a 24 hour cookie. If they don't buy in 24 hours no commission for you. Lousy right! Walmarts better.

On my amazon associates I make a sale at about 100 clicks, don't worry, it's not an exact science, just be patient and the sale will come eventually.

I'd just be patient and wait a while. Dont judge/work out your conversion rates until you have 1000 clicks.

You may well have a 1 in 100 conversion rate but it will probably take more hits for this to pan out and become apparent.

Just hang in their for a while.

Now, seems like you don't have any problem with your traffic but in converting. Make sure the traffic you were getting is from your target prospects.

i have set a autoblog, getting around 5k click per month with no sale at all.

A good guideline is 300 clicks.

If you are not converting at .3% then move on.

Why wait until 1000 clicks. It's wasting your time.

I would also question why you are selling Amazon products.

I hope they are very expensive ones because again why get $2
commission when you could get $100?

Yeah sadly- 128 clicks can happen all the time with no sales- but when you're generating hundreds of clicks a day it will all pan out.

But...there's nothing like getting those huge orders with expensive items that you don't even promote- someone the other day bought 11 boxed sets of old tv shows through my link- that sure as hell doesn't happen with Clickbank.

My Amazon conversion have been pretty bad this month as well. I usually get between 10-15% conversion. This month it's 0%.

All other things being equal , you usually find it evens itself out over the long run.

There is a link checker on Amazon to test out your links to make sure that you are being credited with each purchase.

And like it has been mentioned, it all varies where your traffic is coming from. Even with Adsense traffic, 500+ clicks and no sales is not uncommon for some.

Work on your conversions - ad copy, opt in box, reviews, etc.

My question would be where is your traffic coming from? First up, 120 clicks is not that many clicks. I've had occasions where this happens to me with Amazon. It's unusual, but it does happen.

Your traffic conversions will all depend on the quality of your traffic. Where is it coming from? Are people actually looking to buy something when they hit Amazon from your site, or are they just browsing?

I understand how you must feel right now. I was getting a steady amount of sales for over a week from targeted traffic from keywords on the first page of Google. The keywords are still on the first page of Google, the traffic is still there, and clicks. But sales stopped. So I took Amazon links off and switched it with eBay. I'm going to see if I get sales with eBay. If I do, something is def. going on with Amazon and I don't like it.

Yeah, I thinks it's too early. 128 clicks aren't enough to determine your conversion. Maybe the people that were clicking on your link to read about the products first and compare with other similar products. I would do the same if I become them. If I wanted to buy a television, I wouldn't buy it immediately after clicking on a link. I will compare with other televisions first. So it would be a great idea to make a website that promote similar products. Later they might return to your website and buy.

I get about 10% sales on my click-thru's. These are from sites that direct visitors already looking to buy. I know other people who just send visitors thru enmasse and get less than 1% with Amazon so it depends what kind of traffic you send, casual visitor or someone with the wallet out already.
