  I know you may think of it as hypocrisy, but I assure you, kind ma'am, that it's not. They are two completely different cases. The guy in the link you provided created a thread to specifically advertise his services - a prohibited practice in the WarriorForum. In the case of this thread, the original poster is looking for referrals, and I - together with other content providers - have referred ourselves.
  
  There was a thread last year asking the difference between creating a thread to advertise one's service versus creating a thread to solicit for services, and which one is acceptable, if one is acceptable at all. The consensus was that the former is not acceptable because it renders the paid forums - i.e. WSO, WFH, and Classified Ads - meaningless. Also, allowing such a thread would've made a dangerous precedent as the discussion category would be in perennial danger of being populated with ads. The latter, on the other hand, received mixed reactions. Some were not in favor of it and suggested that a separate category for members who are looking to hire should be made. Some said it was alright until such time when a category for this kind of thread would be created.
