Sales Process Structure Help

I have a product that I am selling a semi-customized version to across several niches. Product doesn't change that much but I am going to ultra target the sales pages / landing pages to each individual subniche.

I am going to use a wordpress blog on the main domain to write articles around the product to drive organic traffic (along with other tactics).

If I do this where do I put the actual sales page? I am going to use a long form sales page. Do I put the blog in a subdirectory and have the main domain be the sales page?

Should the sales page be a stand along page, not part of wordpress blog?

When making landing pages for ppc or seo efforts would you have those landing pages be part of the blog system or stand alone pages?

Any input would be appreciated (if any of this ramble makes sense to anyone

    Just to try to clarify a little bit more so I may get some input:

    Should a sales page always a stand alone page, separate from the wordpress content management system?

    If I am driving traffic to a wordpress blog, and those individual blog entries are optimized for specific keywords that then link to a product long form sales page, should that sales page exist all by itself?
