In the Offline Forum, I posted a link to a sales page for an event. The link (I think) was an affiliate link. That's the reason given for the short Banning.

I pasted the link not knowing it was an affiliate link. I wasn't the affiliate, so I didn't think to check. From now on, I will.

I broke the rules, I paid, I'm back.

It makes me very happy that I was missed.

The same thing just happened to me, except the link was not an affiliate link... and I was banned for a month. :p
(with due respect to the mods, they can't tell if a link is an affiliate link or not)

I just learned the word "Churlish" from an Alexa post, so I wanted to use it in a sentence.

Everyone; Kay called me stupid.....tonight, when we set our clocks back an hour....I'll fix it so Kay never gets that hour back! I'm going to hide that hour in a secret drawer in my dresser.

I thought it might have been the he and Riffle crossed a boundary.
(I should say that Riffle caused him to cross a boundary, which would be
understandable.)

Actually, I also find it a bit awkward with other people named Dan. One night
in the little bar where I used to play pool, there were 7 of us in that little place.

There is a Danny where I live now. He strongly insists on being called Danny because
his Dad called him Dan. Not sure if it's just the way his Dad said it, or that his Dad was
abusive, or both. Anyway, it's the first time I've viewed Danny as a completely separate
name.

Now back to brilliant...Brilliant humor....

I only knew one kid named Dan while I was growing up. He was a sarcastic, Churlish, (Yes, very Churlish) mean guy that used to tease me relentlessly. And I vowed (Yes..vowed) that when I grew up, I would defeat anyone named Dan in mortal verbal combat.

I saw the ban and I wondered what happened but was too scared to ask in case I got banned too. Welcome back Claude. I figured it had to be something simple and only a short ban.

All I have to say is thank goodness the ban didn't last long, as I love reading what Claude has to say. Even though I don't completely agree with "all" he writes, he's a down to earth type of guy. If and when you can get Claude to change his point of view, he's willing.

I even said you were a super man...Sniff, Sniff...

And you still go and hurt my feelings.

Having a big head is better than having a little head or a pinhead and having no head!

If you had no head, then you would be a headless salesman and...and...sniff...and you couldn't makes sales because you couldn't talk.

At least with a big head you could have made a living selling advertising on your forehead. If potential clients had questions, you could reel them on in with your salesman talk too because you still could talk.

As a headless salesman you could only be useful one day of the year, Halloween.

If you were a pinhead, you wouldn't have the smarts to be a successful salesman.

With a big head, you could fly high, just like I pointed out earlier, but yet you chose to be inconsiderate and selfish and wrench on my tender feelings.

And okay, okay, I can be done now. :p

I take still images and use Photofiltre to resize and to insert the head to each shot and then upload the edited images to Gimp to create the animation, I have a tutorial somewhere, let me see if I can find it.

Not too many people know this but before his acting career took off, (albeit briefly) Claude also starred in B grade Sci Fi movies!

He may have starred in some other classics, still trying to dig them up!

But here is one l found, most likely set him up for further ape roles! He, he! :rolleyes:

What are you creating, a picasso?

This took about 5 hours, I normally do 5-6 frame animations with a continuous loop and this one has 44 frames. I didn't spend to much time making it perfect because it took long enough to do the resizing, editing and apply the amount of milliseconds to each individual frame.

Claude doing the Gangnam style, we can call it the Claudenam style.

This is taking to much time to do these and I have to get my work done so maybe Shane can use some of these ideas below, but it's only fair to say that I'm jumping ship and deserting over to Claude's side.

And last but not least. I really want to thank you for clearing up a misconception that some may have made upon viewing Claude and myself in these Claude Kong and Terra exhibits.

If everyone will inspect my hands closely, they'll notice that Claude really did twist my arms to get me to be with him, you see my palms are facing forward and my thumbs to the outside. If he hadn't twisted my arms, my palms would be facing forward with my thumbs facing inward, toward one another.

But in the mean time, I um, couldn't help myself so I made a couple more with just the links.

In honor of Thanksgiving this month, I present you with The Pilgrim Song

Terra, You really don't need the mud analogy because Terra means earth but it also means dirt so no need for any mud as you're already dirty.

A little boy in my store, maybe 5 years old...was behaving himself, and was very quiet.

As we were ringing up the sale to the parents, I leaned over and said "Hi, what's your name?"

He looked up with a very serious face and said "My name is Brian, it means Brave".

I thought it was adorable, and I couldn't leave it alone. So I looked down at him and said "My name is Claude, it means Clump of Dirt". Of course, the parents laughed, I laughed, and my wife just rolled her eyes.

But Brian had no idea what we thought was funny. He was still thinking about "I'm Brian, the Brave".

And as they walked out the front door, I waved and said "Bye Brian, I'll see you later!"

And he (I swear this is true) waved back "Bye, I'll see you in Hell!".

I laughed so hard, a tear ran down my leg.

Actually, it's a rare name (only one in 50,000 families are named Gaskill) in the US, so I'm often asked to spell it. I always say, "as in, the price of gas will kill you."

That usually draws a laugh and "Oh, that's good." or "That's easy." type of comment.

Truth be known though, I've never really liked my first, middle, or last name. It is what it is though.

Dennis; I'll let you in on a little secret. What your name sounds like to you is completely different from what it sounds like to the world. (I know you actually know this, but I'm on a roll)

A name is just a few sounds strung together. Think of celebrities. Think of all the meaningless names they have, that we now associate as having a cool name.

Think of the name Dennis Miller. Is there a more boring or common name? But nobody that hears his name says "Dennis Miller? He should change it to Rod Sterlinghouse".

Think of how silly a name Claude is. But I wouldn't trade it now. Nobody laughs when I say it...and it's memorable. And how many "Claudes" do you know.

I still think Jenna Talia (Yup, real name) was handed a bad hand at birth...but everyone else has a name that can sound great.

There's even a speaker with the last name Hogshead. She uses it to make herself memorable.

So much hubbub over an offhanded comment about a name!

I know there's nothing wrong with it, I just never liked it much. I don't like eating fish either, but I can't tell you why. You just like some things and you don't like others. No biggie. I'm pretty much used to it by now.

@HD - If someone else who uses their real name here would have asked I would have told them my middle name. With you, I couldn't resist because you were asking for my middle when you don't reveal any of yours. Too good an opportunity to pass up.

My mom disliked her middle name so much she changed it from Ann to Jean.

It changed her initials from DAM to DJM, haha!

last night I spent an hour looking up the history of the name Dennis.

In ancient Greece (OK, I guess it wasn't ancient at the time) there was a general that led a vast army. He conquered vast areas and enslaved prisoners that became slaves to the Greeks. His name was Den. At first, they called him Den, The Destroyer.

The rallying cry for the oppressed slaves was "Den is a menace to the world!"

Later, when the slaves were texting each other about the revolt, They shortened the name to.....wait for it....wait for it.....

"Den is the menace". And that's where "Dennis the Menace" came from. True story.

Seriously, it took a long time to find this out. Seriously. I'm very serious.

I found some interesting meanings of names.

Joseph - he will add, addition, increase, he will enlarge

Dennis - Thracian god of wine, God of wine, mountain of Zeus

Claude - persevering, disabled, money, lame, limping

My mom used to tell me when I was young that Sally meant Princess. Then I got old enough to look it up and actually FIND it in the American Heritage Dictionary. To charge or attack. sigh.

I don't like my name at all - it sounds naggy. That's why anyone who knows me calls me Sal. I don't mind that. Don't like going by my married name, but I didn't change it right away when I divorced because I was young enough to think I'd just change it again anyway. Came close a few times (whew - a few brain cells that didn't get burnt). But about the time I reall started to hate the name - that's what everyone knew me by. I still might get a bee in my bonnet and change my whole name. I know the name - it will be on my fiction book. We'll see.

I asked my wife what "Riffle" meant. She looked it up, and told me "A very used and stained bedsheet in a low class brothel". The crustiness from the layers of stains caused by months of use, creates what's known as a "Riffling effect" in the sheet.
