Client Wants Craigslist Ad Posting Service...Do You Offer It?

I myself haven't sold this service but I've had a couple of people from Odesk who applied for a lead generation post I did that has this experience. From what it looks like the marketer made a photoshop ad, gave it to the person on Odesk, and then the person on Odesk would post it in the correct categories 3-4hour apart so as not to be banned from craigslist.

It looked like he only charged $3 an hour.

I would have no idea what to charge the customer though just thought that would help a bit

Seems I remember a post answering your questions. You may want to do an advanced search to find it. I don't do CL so I didn't pay that much attention.

BTW that is against craigslist terms of service (paying a company to post ads).

Although I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble, they do make it sound scary that their penalty fee is like $100 per post. Not sure that would ever stand up in court.

I have done some. I made 7 ads post one per day @ $5 each. Then every day the following week renewed one ad per day @ $2 each then repeat each week. They were basic ads for a local service.

If you can outsource it and turn a nice profit margin, why not?

I'd advise outsourcing via oDesk. Maybe even try searching for some Fiverr services.

I don't have this service myself, but some guy locally must. Check out Craigslist for Louisville, KY, and you'll see two carpet cleaners (I wonder if they're the same guy) that have ads posted everywhere. I've counted as many as 30 ads in a day for just one of the companies, all on the Louisville site, and in the services category as well as general and business. These guys are dominating Craigslist in my area for carpet cleaning. Not sure if it helps them or makes them look shady and desperate, but it must work for them otherwise they'd stop at some point.

Hello, Many of the people on Odesk charge per post. I think that depending on how many times a day or week your client wants to post, you could definitely make a profit. It is usually anywhere from $1-$2 per post when you provide the ad copy or image. I used someone recently that I liked, if you want his info just PM me.

I've had some luck outsourcing CL ad posting on oDesk.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

• Since it is against CL TOS, be a little vague in your oDesk job post. Instead of "Need Someone for Craigslist Posting" use a job title of "Need Someone for Classified Ad's Posting." Then send more specific detailed instructions to your candidates once they apply. This will save you the headache of having your oDesk posting flagged & removed.

• Try to negotiate a per post fee instead of paying your outsourcer by the hour. I felt that it was easier to track rather than going through the work diary to verify my outsourcer was actually working while on the clock. I was able to find a reliable worker who would post daily for $0.40 per post.

• Only hire a worker who has done previous CL ad posting and has positive feedback. Trust me, there are plenty available!

• Be very clear about which section you would like your ad's posted in. You will get a cheaper rate posting in the "Community" section, but you may get better results posting in the "Services" section.

• Verify (with a test post) that they have a PVA to post in your local area prior to hiring.

They're easy to find. Does posting for clients bring them clients? Yes. Depending on what they do, it can do very well. I talked to someone just recently that was bringing in $60k/mo. just as an affiliate, just posting on CL daily. He even had a business account and was allowed to post multiple times a day (only for Paid jobs section).

Backpage.com can bring results for some of the folks out there. They already have options on paid renewing ads.

Need Relieable Craigslist Posting ???

I can say it works. Just get a few quotes and no "ghosting" ads.

No one can promise 100% live ads. A ton of odesk freelancers are full of crap most of the time. If anyone charges under $1.00 per ad, it is either a scam, or they will not be able to properly get your ads to stick because they aren't use the right PVA's. The only reason it should be under $1.00 is when your doing bulk amounts of ads per day for a business. You can then justify lowering the prices to still make a profit. There is overhead, PVA, and IP solution costs. When ads get flagged, it is because your ad is similar to another or it comes off as spam. So when a service claims they can post 100% live ads, this is not true. Watch out for services that are not from the United States, which is 99% of them. They use automated software, use PVA's that aren't American based or for the right city. Find a company within the U.S that posts commercially. It will save you money and a headache. A proper service will have PVA's for every state.

I have once provide such service but got banned. CL seem to become strict so flooding them with ads seem not a good idea for posters.

We used to use Craigslist ad posters. Here were our requirements. Some might be out of date by now:

- know and manage IP switching, proxies, etc.
- provide an excel report with ads links and time
- ads need to be posted between 9am - 5pm US central standard time
- We will only pay for ads that stick at least 2hs, not ghosted of flagged ads.
- We will provide email addresses, but will not IP addresses or CL accounts.
- You need to use a different email address for each ad posted.

Are there any reliable CL posters still around?

I've sold this service as well. In the past I've made one post for $1. Because Craigslist registers copy-and-paste ads, and does not like the same ad mimicked in different areas, each ad needs to variate slightly from the last. $1.00 per each 100 word article is my going rate. It can get costly, but yes- Craigslist can be very effective.
