How Best to Use Unique Content Videos

I am going to be developing a bunch of unique content custom made videos and loading them onto Youtube and putting links in the description back to my blog.

I also want to put the videos on my blog.

But I am concerned that if I do that the end result might be that as with any video blog that just republishes youtube videos without changing the video descriptions, tags etc (alot of work) the site will not do well in the Google or Bing rankings.

On the other hand I like the idea of uploading to youtube both because it is a source of traffic and the videos load faster than self-hosted videos.

Anyone have any experience with this type of situation.

What do you recommend?

    hosting youtube videos on your own blog only adds value to the blog post. Add additional supporting content to the blog, perhaps a download or transcript. This will position you to have both your blog post show and youtube in google searches. Don't worry about changing the title tags and description, because this is the true title and description. Use the blog to add commentary, link to other supporting content, etc.
