Step-By-Step SEO Plan

I'm in the process of outsourcing an SEO project
on eLance, but I'm not exactly sure what to tell
me outsourcer to do in order to get the most bang
for my buck.

I know a decent bit about SEO and how to backlink
and everything. But what I'm falling short on, I
guess, is the plan.

I'm mostly looking for backlinking. What type of
process should I outline for my outsourcer?

Thanks!

    Hi,

The thing is, there are many different approaches to seo.

I personally liked inlineseo.com which is by a warrior and sometimes available in a wso. It's a VERY comprehensive approach to dominating very high competition keywords or doing a smaller focused site.

Also, thekeywordacademy.com is good but I dunno if Court is a Warrior.

Finally, there are tons of different approaches in the wso's. I really like the insights Terry Kyle on his backlinks forum and his product and emails.

There is no 1 approach is the thing.

    Best wishes,

    Marlon Sanders

I'm not sure one exists, I've been thinking about the same as I've started doing some offline stuff. I've got my sites to the top in a kinda haphazard way, do all the right things but in no particular order - probably loads of wasted effort along the way.

Be interested if you find one, it's about efficiency of effort I think !

Maybe spend some time going through one of these type of threads may help

Yeah... I know there are a lot of different way
to approach SEO. I guess I'm just looking for
a plan to be able to send out to my outsourcer.

Jesse, take a look at Terry Kyle's thread. He goes through setting up an seo backlinking job on elance.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...eriment-6.html

It is near the bottom of this page and continues for another 1 or 2 pages.

I actually really recommend reading the whole thread if you get a chance though. Very informative!

I would take a look at the services offered by Traffic Sage Traffic Sage - Website Promotion Made Easy! and have your freelancer do something similar for you.

Then again, you can always just use Traffic Sage . The Warriors that run the service,Ron Douglas and Mike Ambrosio, know their stuff.

Although my thread was written in the context of AdSense, it includes my SEO routine that works.

Most of these SEO guys at Elance or other websites will offer you a package with basic stuff like keyword optimization on your websites, webdirectory submission, article syndication, forum comments, social bookmarking and press releases etc.. But if you want a specific service then its best to post separate projects for each work. Like you may post 1 project with title "200 Dofollow Blog Comments" and do mention in project description that you have a tight budget so the bidders should bid reasonably.

If i was you , I would have some targeted forum posting and blog commenting done and track my serps. If i see results, I would continue or else I would give links from web 2.0 properties a shot.

If I understand Jesse correctly, I think a lot of these posts miss the point.

I'm running into a problem similar to Jesse's. I'm working with offline clients. Some are in easy niches (I just got one client on page one simply by putting a blog on an exact match domain), some are in very demanding niches - "personal injury attorney" in any major city is very competitive.

It's easy to find a link building package on Warrior Forum. There's no problem finding someone to generate 1,000 links a month. It's also easy to find a warrior who got his accountant on page one for "estate tax accountant Huber Heights" in a week or a month. The problem is that the tax account strategy is far too little for the personal injury attorney and the link mountain may get the energy consultant sandboxed.

So, the challenge is to find someone who has the perspective to say, for a given specific client:
      a. building an optimized page will be enough for this keyword
      b. get an exact match domain to get this keyword cluster
      c. build a link pyramid with 500 low PR links and 12 .gov/.edu links for this keyword and keep it going for 3-4 months.

I may have put the wrong words into Jesse's mouth (sorry if I did). But this is what I'm looking for - not another link building extravaganza, but someone who can put some perspective so I'm charging a little for people who only need a little, and telling the folks who need a lot just where they need it and how much and for how long.

I realize this is the guts of SEO and it's an art. It's also where I'm spending most of my time offering service and doing personal study. And I'd like to offer the best possible service to my clients and learn at the same time.

If you have those skills, or you know someone who does, I'd love to hear from you.

check out tim ferris's 4 hour work week. he got some cool techinques. start of by having them do the task for a short period and report to you when done. then you can evaluate and decide what needs improvement, not just your VA's work but in your teaching method as well.

Hi Jesse I'm kind of new here myself but one of the first posts I read was this one NEWBIES! The Many Aspects Of Internet Marketing LAID OUT In Plain English by TrafficGuy Claude

SEO is for building Traffic right well in the 2nd part of the post Claude lists the various ways of building traffic some I knew already others I thought were possible but didnt know what to call them and what they entailed and some brand new ones you may have never thought off.

So probably look at each one then look at what the market ur targetting is and then apply which ones you think your outsourcer has better capabilities to do himself and the other ones you feel you can do do those yourselves.

Like I said Im still relatively new at this myself so Im no expert but hope this helps.
