In my experience, this is best. Use great keywords, great content and people will come to read what you have to say. Use other sites as a reference to know what works and what doesn't.

You may or may not agree that most of the Guru are leveraging the power of relationship. It's extremely easy and fast to drive traffic by using "borrow traffic" from your fellow IM buddy, aka asking for "Joint Venture" and "Email Endorsement".

  If you are a newbie - consider learning all the free methods that are effective. Learn the basics of SEO as well. This will make a big difference to your PPC campaigns and you will be throwing less money at the wind.
  
  If you can grasp the SEO basics you can apply them to your PPC campaigns. Of course - if you are loaded with cash then go for it - use PPC.
  
  Organic search, keywords, targeting through good content and these types of skills all help when you are ready to try out PPC.

For me social bookmarking has seen the best continual results, so much so I actually created my own social bookmarking network.

The main problem with SB today is because it has been done to death to get great results you really need to use automated tools and have tons of accounts on each site.

Bookmarking software can be very expensive but you can still get results with free service like social marker

I agree, you will get a lot of traffic but hardly any sales because of this.I stick to ezinearticles.com, blogging, blog commenting and forums.This way you will get most of your traffic directly from search engines and your traffic is highly targeted.It will take time, but this is a job like any other.

This is all human traffic - all unique.....

Yep! PTC Had the same experience with my diet product. Site got thousands of hits in one night, but nothing of value. Most bounced in less than 1.5 seconds.

I agreed with your 1st one PPC.It does work, but still need some money to start. I try out blog commenting, and it does giveme free traffic.

This how it works,first find a list of high traffic blog that allows linking your blog, than just put up a decent/useful comments there together with your link.

It does help caught visitor attention to click your URL,especially when they like when reading your comments.

Looked at spin success. They have got years experience and great testimonials. Did not look at there prices though. Does the price appeal you?

There are lot of ways , especially now , with the WEB 2.0.
Social Networks sites , forums , blogs , videos and so on , the advantage in those ways are that they are FREE and very easy to use.
PPC , however , can be very complicated and can cost you a fortune.

PPC is the fastest way no doubt, as it it almost instant. But you need to have money to start up with and you also need to have the necessary experience and skill to use it without losing your money and your shirt. It's not really a good method for newbies.

I am not sure if I tried PPC before but I am using traditional methods of promoting site such as submitting to search engines, submitting to articles' directory and leaving signatures to forums, etc. Anyway, thanks for sharing your tips

Yes - PPC has to be the fastest way - but it is not free. It can add up really quick. Getting free traffic is far better.

One thing that is not mentioned here, that is currently my #1 source of traffic to my website (according to Google Analytics) is Google Images.
I know that personally I make heavy use of the google images search feature, and in addition to the picture I wanted, I land on somebody's website.

Proper PPC wil be the quickest way - I guess that is what the big players use most. It is hard to imagine that they still are manually building back links or using free traffic generators and so on

But as long as you can neither afford nor do that perfect it is too expensive.

In my opinion you should focus on ways to promote which you LIKE too - e.g. not everyone can / want write good articles regularly.

Well, i agree with the post no.1.
If you are looking from client based perspective, the fastest and the best way to see is your site converting at all is PPC. Imo PPC should be started immediately after web site launch since there is no much sense to invest time and money in SEO and all other stuff if web site design sucks.

Article marketing is no.2, if you provide good content it will bring fast traffic.

  use ping.fm and connect all your social networking site and then look for a rss topic or niche you might intrested in.
  
  Copy that rss url link and paste that into ping.fm.

Excellent suggestion. This is something I don't hear mentioned on PPC/business forums much. If I look at where my traffic comes from, I see that a nice percentage comes from google image searches. A good way to increase traffic to your site.

PPC is not suitable if you are total beginner . You need some time to study and master it .

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

If you have lots of images on your site, you should name them correctly so the Google search engine picks up the images. Then people will find your site when they are searching for images.

I have maybe a stupid question about blog commenting. I am fairly new at this, I have a bunch of time on my hands so. it seems like at least half the time I make a comment, it doesnt show up and the form is still filled out with all my info except the comment. Hi,

forum postings and link exchange always work fine, not matter what your site is about.
If it is your own website be sure your keywords in the metatags are carefully chosen, most important for your SEO.

And depending on your business the use of Traffic Exchanges can help too.
This will not work for the average webstore, but if you are looking for resellers, affiliates or referrals, TE's can be very useful.
Also when you are offering webhosting or something related TE's will work for you.

NOTE:
When using TE's it's most important your website is loading fast and show immediately what you are offering, to much info will not work because initially the TE surfer will visit your website only for 15 up to 30 seconds (depending on the program)... so without having to scroll down the visitors attention have to be caught, making him/her curious to read more and stay longer.

Some excellent information in this thread. The techniques that have worked best for me in the past are...

1) Forum Signatures (instant)
2) Video Responses in YouTube (instant)
3) Podcasting (nearly instant, picked up by the search engines within the hour sometimes. I use Traffic Geyser for that technique by the way)

You can get a ton of traffic instantly with PTC traffic.

Paid To Click traffic.

This is human traffic too. You can buy 500 hits for $7 or there are plenty of other offers around.

The problem is this sort of traffic is pretty useless - but you may be able to use it for opt in if you have a very brief opt in page.

If you want to get more traffics for your site and for free then you can join also social networking sites.

Even i got good amount of traffics from my facebook account only.

it depends what sort of traffic your after, converting traffic is what your after if you in business, and ppc can work but you have to be very specific, and keep a tight budget, to make sure you don't overspend. Social bookmarking works and also video, if you have the right type of product for that type of marketing

An offline press release can be amazing

although you never know when it's going to hit
so you can't rely on it.

but say you have a book on romantic tips or
something do a press release around V day
and imagine several or dozens of radio show hosts
doing interviews with you.

This is not only targeted traffic it's pre sold by the interviewer.

but you can be sending out press releases for a long time for this to happen
even when you do it right.

so its not the fastest (unless you hit a homer the first time)

but the results are amazing when you hit

Well if you pick your keywords wisely, refine them, optimize them and tweak them, do a proper market and keyword research, the natural result should be highly targeted traffic, so if you`re doing all those stuff there`s nothing to worry about. Of course, I always recommend using negative keywords in PPC to flush out freebie hunters.

PPC broke my bank and forced me to learn that my copy was sadly underdeveloped. I'm now working on learning about how to create good copy and getting it right the first time. Good things come with time and I'm here to stay. It was an expensive lesson to learn but there are no shortcuts to getting rich. I've resigned myself to educate myself which is why I joined this forum to chat with all of you good people.

I've been doing this for a few years now and whilst I like social bookmarking and it does generate traffic, I don't find it to be particularly sticky. I still don't think you can beat fresh, unique, regularly updated content.

PPC might be the fastest, but it's a tough learning curve .. email marketing is another fast way, a lot cheaper but a lot harder too, and a pain in the ass so not worth it ... hmm what else? i know a few really killer ways to get IMMEDIATE and high quality traffic, one is youtube viral videos .. the other i'm not gonna say :-)

I know what you mean, I also tried different methods to generate more traffic as blogs, videos, bookmarking up to a point I really needed to generate massive traffic into my page because I was having losses, so on a desperate attempt to get more clients I hired this ppc company and that's when I could see good results.

i myself been using forums for a while now and thought i would step it up a
notch and use PPC, just made my first adword account the other day and read a couple e-books to better educate myself on the matter.

My favorite ways to generate traffic are forum sigs and article marketing. As someone mentioned a lot of things work very well if you just do them on a consistent basis. Rss feeds work very well to get you indexed in the top Google listings, but the key is finding ways to keep you there.

Getting traffic also depend on the topic of your website. For example, if your service or product is interesting to the audiences of social network sites, it will blow up your website.

But if it's not, it might even get noticed.

You can always buy cheap traffic and spend a lot of money on PPC, but if the traffic you are getting is not relevant, they won't even bother sticking around.

Give yourself good 30 days to see some results. It's easier to be friends with people who already have high traffic websites and request them to mention your website/product in one of their posts/articles.

You can use payperpost but to be honest if don't have a good relationship with the publisher, they will just b.s. the recommendation of your site/product.

The important point about traffic is that it needs to be targeted.

The title of this thread is "Fastest Way To Generate Traffic".

OK, getting traffic fast is ideal, however, you don't just need a massive amount of traffic.

You need HIGHLY TARGETED TRAFFIC.

How do you get this? By posting relevant content and building your reputation through knowledge.

YOu need to be able to 'know your market' and deliver to them information they are hungry to hear.

Find the places they hang out and participate and you will get lots of targeted traffic. Just throw a heap of crap and the web in the hope that something sticks - is not a good strategy for targeted traffic.

You could get 30 visitors and make more money from them than 5000 visitors.

It is about quality - not quantity.

Make sure if you comment on blogs you search for do follow blogs, otherwise the search engines will ignore your 1 way links. Ping services like feedping (dot) com are also very good for fast promotion when you make content changes to your site or blog.

I also like programs like listjoe.com. (Although the amount of stuff you get is a bit overwhelming). It's not huge but I get around 45 visitors when they send out my email. If you do it, I'd sign up for the gold package rather than trying to earn points by opening the emails they send you.

But I disagree that PPC isn't right for the newbie. If you have a local market campaign you can start to learn with a very small budget. I've had clients in niche markets do real well with a $300 per month investment.

Find a keyword phrase and plug into google search engine. If the optimised results (quoted) is less than 5000, then create a squidoo lens with 500 words of 3% keyword density. Your lens should appear on the 1st page of google and you can get tons of traffic.

Using the same method, I get tons of traffic by posting videos to youtube site

I'll third that for Google images. name your image file well, and use the title and alt tags in the image, and Google Images will love you. Not 100% sure how high quality the traffic is, but I've used it a lot with good results.

A couple things you can do to not only get some traffic but get a good link is to do some guest book posting or to buy a link on someones site with High page authority. I believe Linkscape at seomoz also has a free trial you could use to find some links. If you spend an hour getting some good quality links they will do more for you then if you spent the whole day building pages on social media sites like squidoo, webjam, wetpaint, hubpages, etc.

Do this and you will see a change in traffic pretty quick.

The problem with banner exchange advertising is that unless your on a high traffic page on there site you wont see much in return. If you can work out both putting them on a high traffic page you may have some success but it can be hard sometimes. If your looking for traffic you could have some better success if you just do some research and find a few quality links.

As far as article marketing there is a trick that will help you to get a ton of traffic...in fact I believe Howie Schwartz just did a seminar on this. Anyways have ten article written for you, or do them yourself. You then go to sites like ezine articles, google knol, etc and you do 5 articles a day everyday. After a few weeks up the amount. You will receive a ton of traffic if you do this but you have to be consistant. I have often found sites that I will give them a good article if they will let me have a link in it. This has worked for me in the past and have recieved good traffic.

I also think the biggest sin you could make is only employing one or two of the tactics.

You should learn to do each method effectively and then pick them off one by one.

Personal favourites:

video content (often 2 vids in google search results)
article marketing
social bookmarketing (especially squidoo lenses on your niche - a highly targeted variety of social bookmarking unlike digg)

My recommendation:

Post a blog on your website
use onlywire.com to bookmark your blog on many social networking sites, especially twitter, digg, tecknorati, myspace, facebook and others

Work on getting many followers on twitter - it is hot, easy and fun

Do this on a consistent basis, perhaps daily

The traffic is fast and immediate

Reciprocal linking is primitive and is no longer a recommneded way to generate traffic. If you Google it you will see more negatives (later than 2007 articles and comments).

You could spend 2 days driving untargeted visitors and get 2 sales.

or

Spend 2 days driving highly targeted visitors and get 20 sales. The difference is targeting your market.

A great way to target them is by adding fresh unique content.

To drive more traffic to your website
1. Write articles and submit it to all the major article directories with backlinking to your
website.
2. Use social bookmarking.
3. Use proper keywords density in your websites.

how about this :

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

As you said traffic from the search engine is very effective and highly targeted .

But , one of the problems is that in order to bring your website to the front page of the search engine results page takes time and resource .

So , you need to use short time traffic generation techniques like PPC and and use SEO for long term results .

Joining google goups and yahoo groups related to your topic and other discussion forums including social bookmarking generates instant traffic to any site.
Also try press release submissions and try to index them in google news.

ofcourse , unlike other targeted traffic generation sources , in order to exploit the power of ppc marketing , you need to do it right .

Ehhh, I'd say learn PPC as QUICK as possible, not slowly. Of course you need a budget to work with but that's how this game works. You WILL LOSE MONEY at first. Don't cry about it. It's a learning experience. But at the same time don't blindly just throw up campaigns. Like I said follow a good course on PPC and learn from someone who knows what they're talking about and take action. Also don't complain when things don't work, it's all about testing and many things WON'T work at first. It's about finding winning campaigns, sometimes by trial and error. Hope this helps.

PPC has to be the fastest for sure.

However, it is going to cost you a 'donkey' if your not careful. It can be really expensive if you don't know what you are doing and knowing what you are doing takes a long time to figure out.

So, PPC is probably the fastest but is expensive.

If you want it free and you want it fast, then there is not much to choose from. Free traffic takes time.

Blog commenting has been a huge traffic generator for me to several of my blogs. the other great thing about blog commenting is that it allows you to generate inbound links to your blog with the anchor text being your name so it also helps rank your name in the search engines! It is a great way to tap into other communities online and generate a stream of traffic from each one to generate your own river of traffic at your site... I highly recommend it!

More importantly, how do you get the right people (targeted traffic) to follow you on Twitter?

I've heard that we shouldn't always post sales-driven tweets - we should post content-based tweets,
sometimes I don't know what to tweet about, so I tweet random stuff like,
"Good weather here today" or
"What are your dreams/passions?"
basically, something that can cultivate a relationship with people,
or something that will get people to reply me.

Just keep following people and over time it will build up.

To find the right people, you can do a search with Google.

For me, PPC is a great way to generate traffic and earn revenue for the site. PPC is a paid advertisement while forum posting and blog comment is for organic result of the site. Forum posting and blog comment can generate traffic but it depends on the traffic and visitors of the site.

However, since I'm in the "make money online" market, when I type
site:twitter.com "bio" AND ("Make money online")
in Google, most of the results (actually, I think all of the results) I get are of established Internet marketers.
I don't think they are my potential customers? I mean, I'm searching for people who do not know how to make money online, but want to get started.
Is there another way to go about this?

Can't say I know another way. If you want to target the audience with no experience, then you may have to look into what sort of person that would be and try and find out where they would hang out.

Usually money making forums would be a good start.

Ok, so a couple of questions then.

1. Are there any conditions to posting our sites in the signatures that would otherwise get us banned or reprimanded?

2. PPC - I want to try this $25 dollar coupon for advertising with yahoo. It gives you a section to add as much as up to 50 keywords/ keyword phrases. Should I use a bunch of keywords that cover the wide range of products on my site or should I use only one or 2 keywords for one particular product on my site?

SEO is the best sustainable way to get traffic. I like to base my sites on sustainable traffic and not just a quick traffic spike that I can't rely on.

For quick traffic spikes, though, I would research using google trends and do a blog post about something that is hot in the news (hopefully the news topic relates to the demographics of people you're trying to sell to).

I use blog commenting and a little bit of forum comments but I actually like social bookmarking for quick traffic. I have noticed that PPC works, but you have to invest a lot of time with keyword research to make it effective.

My 2 cent worth...

While SEO and backlinking, etc., provide the best long-term traffic, one of the Fastest FREE ways that I've found to generate traffic is through creative posting to Wikipedia. I posted a detailed post.

PPC is quick, but could cost you money if you don't use it right.

Wikipedia is already ranked for just about every article. I've experimented and the traffic to my site from Wiki articles far outweighed everything else.

I posted some screenshots from my one week experiment.

The online traffic to that blog ramped up tremendously.

The second best traffic source I've found is posting interesting info in forums.

All these are great to generate traffic while you are waiting on the big G to index your site and while you build your backlinks, etc.

Certainly forum participation sends traffic relatively quickly and it is targeted.

However, SEO has to be one of the best long term ways to get traffic.

Yeah , if you know how to do it the right way SEO is one of the most effective sources if targeted traffic . make sure that PPC is also very effective , specially if yo want to get quick results . But , you have to study it carefully , before investing any money in PPC marketing .

PPC will truly bring instant traffic just like forum commenting. However, blog commenting did not work for me. I guess people do comments on blogs and they don't bother to read other peoples' comments nor visit their websites :-)

I do prefer organic traffic. Blog commenting and social bookmarking works well. I guess ppc is a good method if you really learn all the in and out of it, which is not my case yet.

Why did you put blog commenting? I don't think that's a good way to get fast traffic, it's more useful for backlinks. If you want traffic start answering yahoo answers, posting on related forums and such, but blog comments - nah.

well honestly speaking, am not believing in fastest traffic, PPC will get some quick traffic, But traffic should be organic and targeted IMO, I always go with forum posting and also yahoo answers posting, those are working really well to me.

I have posted about 6 months ago in yahoo answers, it's still bring traffic for me. Press release also one of the best way, and obviously as others said SBM.

I found placing classifieds work for me, social networking profiles, Utube videos, forums, ezine articles, signature links and passing out my business cards with my links clearly embedded. Make up cheap cards and leave them everywhere you go, you will be amazed how many people hit on your link out of curiosity and become potential buyers

For raw traffic, there is no faster way that PPC. Period.

For real traffic, go through organic (SEO) methods.

For fast, remarkably poor/untargetted traffic, go through social networking methods.

Personally, video marketing has proven to be very effective for me in terms of driving traffic and I cannot emphasize this enough but find something that works for you and one that drives the kind of traffic that you'll want.

Just to share my little successful techniques use twitter and get as many followers as you can then after creating 10 articles per day submit them to atleast 40 sbm sites then tweet them also I get hundreds of visitors from twitter alone...

Social network sites have tons of members and one should add a lot of friends on the networks and link to other networks as well. blog commenting done regularly helps to get quality traffic and serious inquiries. forum posting and commenting , yes , is another effective way. Find a website with lots of traffic like 30k uniques a day and a webmaster willing to sell you cheap adspace on their site. Make sure your site has some relation to the one you buy adspace on.

Beside PPC, Blog commenting and forum posting, you can also make social group for your site which has a lot of fans or followers like tweeter, create a group in Facebook or yahoo group as well.
Do it more, i am sure you will get free traffic consistently.

A way that is really efficient now is youtube marketing... Just create or buy some videos, put a link in your video description and you will be getting traffic to your website.

A pretty fast method of getting traffic is going to speedywebhits.com and buying 10.000 international visitors for just $6. In less than 24 hours I got 144 unique visitors because I set the limit to 20 visitors an hour (they can probably deliver much more but I don't want my site's loading times to go up). I have the worst experience with speedywebhits. They always sent me a couple of clicks (you have no idea what kind of clicks those are) and then it stopped. So I wanted money back, they ignored it and sent a couple of other clicks and then stopped. This game went three times and I refused. I could not login to my account since beginning - noone responded to that. So, go ahead if you want to have this kind of fun.

I thinks the best way to find the best traffic source for own website is just testing different methods and track that specific method on how much it has generated traffic. If that specific method has generated lots of traffic then you should go with it and don't concentrate on other methods that doesn't bring you much traffic.

There are so many ways to generate the traffic. You can get the traffic through the Pay Per Click, you can do also the comments in the high PR forums. You can also do the blog comments.

yes leaving coments is the grate and easy way to generate trafic. i also generate trafic from comanting. i have an experianc spose if u have 100 visitor and high bounce rate then its mean u have not good contant you should change your contant quality contant. then you will see that your bounce rate going down and you have more clicks or you vill achive your tarrget with smal amout of trafic. this is my experiance and i want to shair with you thanks for reed me.

My focus is to be on the front page of Google for targeted keyword phrases, which I'm doing with blogs and social networking backlinks. I don't do PPC anymore. I want all organic traffic from sources I didn't have to pay per click/action/view/etc.

One thing that just hit my radar today are review pages, which aren't anything new, but other than the occasional review on Amazon, I really haven't done anything with reviews. I started to research the question and found this:

Has anyone bought Auto Traffic Nemesis? It sounds very similar to Google Nemesis. ATN is supposed to be a way to immediately rank on the first page of Google for any keyword phrase, which is ridiculous, because no one ranks on the first page for just *any* ol' keyword phrase, but one which has the right SEOC numbers. That we know, so that's just part of the hype. But conversely, the sales squeeze page makes it clear it's not about article marketing, or blogging, so maybe these review pages are the answer. Any opinions? Thanks.

Keyword articles are good but the traffic you get through them depends on a lot of factors:

- the number of articles competing in the same niche

- the site carrying those articles

- the way the articles are optimized

- backlinks to those article pages

Results from articles are not immediate. You cannot solely rely on them for traffic to your site. You need to look for other ways of fully optimzing those article pages.

I definitely agree that targeted traffic is what makes a difference to your business. That is why I mostly focus on PPC.

There are also other targeted traffic sources like PPV . But , beaware that PPV is a very tricky game . Don't play PPV unless you compleelyt master PPV game rules.

Is it a viable method or just a waste of time?..Well advertising would generate at least some income so it's not a total waste. Haven't had much luck with article marketing though. I wonder why..

PPC is cool to a point, Blog commenting and leaving you signature all work well but the best way is to have an article submitter where you can just get all of your content all over the web with out having to pay every time someone clicks on your add trust me plus it works with little to no effort well that's if you don't mind writing articles everyday.....

PPC, PPV and pretty much all paid traffic would be the fastest way to generate traffic.
If you have a huge, responsive list then also that.. and if you have a responsive network to sell to, that's also a really fast way to boost traffic.

Do you use or have you used display ads to promote CPA offers? And if so any good results? Display ads are kind of appealing to me just because there is not big brother google regulating my ads. But I am not sure if it is just a waste of time or not. And what kind of offers you would promote using them.

In another post you had followed up and said that a good way to enter media buys as a newbie is to buy direct. So are media buys and display ads the same thing?

I thought about using a company like advertise.com for my display placement.

The most majority of marketers associate media buys only with buying advertising space in the form of banner ads. But, the truth is media buying includes PPC, PPV, Facebook ad, POF Ad, etc. It could also be buying ads from big web portals like yahoo, MSN, etc.

In fact, media buys is very diverse and huge.

If there is one thing that would stay for the years to come with least saturation, it is going to be media buying.

So, if you want to exploit the immense potential of media buying, it is time to think of it. Time to study and master media buying.

And , display type advertisement is a subset of Media buys. If you know how to do it the right way , they are highly effective .

I think that PPC is much more effective in terms of short-term traffic. If people subscribe to an RSS feed or something like that after PPC then it's worth it. Very few people know how to use PPC effectively (me included!) and that's why people say it's not very effective, whereas it is if used properly. But yeah as I said, in my opinion it's more short term - unless you have some money to burrrrrn

PPC is good. But if you want long term traffic, article writing is the way to go! Don't like to write your articles? Have someone write for you. Not just 1 or 10 articles, thousands and just keep writing, it's free!

Submit them to http://ezinearticles.com they have a very high page rank and your articles can reach the number 1 or 2 spot in no time and remember it's free!

How has only LivelyBrowser mentioned Facebook Ads?

The post is 'fastest way to generate traffic'. I might be being a little of a smartass, but I don't know of any traffic source as fast as Facebook Ads. Set a campaign live, put real-time tracking like Clicky on it, and watch traffic 15 MINUTES LATER!

That's the fastest way to generate traffic.

According to my concerns, you should try to determine the site link to social book marketing sites. It was considered that most people do use Google to get the e-book. Again, I am a simple user-friendly alternative to generating traffic on the website to write a few articles and submitting them to those sites, which are mainly oriented articles. Include a link or RSS Subscribe button to your website. I also remember that the top search sites and ask them in writing a guest post some work alone.

Updating your blog is the best way to get fast traffic in just a few hours, you will see results and it is proven. The most difficult part is finding a contemporary topic to write, it is hot at present. Whoa! You will not believe what are you going to get for that particular of time. Whether or not you can sell your product is another question but worth trying because it is FREE. However, if you really have a great product to sell, try traffic exchange. There are lots of small business owner who is looking for something to upgrade their earning potential.

The fastest way to generate traffic is forum posting and social networking. Forum posts marvelous works, if you work hard doing a lot of messages in the forums as many with a similar niche.

I didn't think blog commenting would be so effective but it definitely works very well. Solo ads aren't bad if you have a very good sales funnel but for some people I think it's a little hard to break even if you are first starting out. You also have to make sure everything in your funnel converts to the highest degree possible in order to make sure you profit, but yeah solo ads is a great way of getting targeted traffic.

As per my knowledge, if you want to generate traffic then you have to wait for sometimes, there is no fastest way to generate traffic but you can generate traffic with the seo techniques and you can use social networking sites like facebook, twitter and many more for huge traffic.

My favorites in order

Consistently = Social bookmarking Facebook, Twitter etc...
Sometimes = Commenting, Forum posts
Rarely = PPC both Google and Facebook

As many others have stated, PPC is a great way to go if you're looking to get decent amount of traffic fast. However, your on and off-page SEO is what's really important for the long term-- which is what you're hopefully focusing on.

Hands down I would vote on PPC for fastest. You can get Adwords traffic flowing in 15 minutes.

Then again if you owned a massive list, or are doing a JV, those could be pretty quick too.
