Is no follow .edu backlinks are powerful or not useful, i have lot of .edu links but mostly are no follow, so my question is .edu no follow link have importance like do follow .edu links are not?

    No follow .edu backlinks are not much good. But they are useful up to some extent.

    Google will recognize them as a some valuable backlinks count, because edu backlinks.

    But they are not important as do follow .edu backlonks.

    Dofolow links are always better because they can juice pagerank to external links too but nofollow ones don't do this. But nofolloe backlinks are still counting as your backlinks and you can see them in Google webmaster tools too.

    Nofollow .Edu links are effective. Seomoz has a tool that allows you to compare your backlink profile to your competitors in a very clear way. Based on that data, have a few sites that I've exclusively used nofollow links on and they are ranking 1st for a number of keywords. If your site has quality content and you've taken care of the on page SEO then quality links will help. It doesn't matter if they are do follow or no follow. With that said, if you are talking about profile links, then the effect to your rankings will be minimal.

    You should have a mix of both Nofollow and Dofollow Backlinks.
