hi.. i have this new blog based on a lowcomp long tail keyword. it is indexed by google but i havent done any offpage seo until today.

today i got me 2 backlinks, 1 pr7 (actual page) and one pr5, both dofollow and anchored.

I am wandering, how long will it take before these links gain any effect?

ps. my site ain't in the first 100 results (before i made the links)

Can't actually predict the time. You will definitely see the effect soon, because as you said, the PR's are high enough.

IF you have the link to the site where you have created backlinks than you can submit to pingomatic.com so that it would get indexed faster than the normal speed. It is the best way to get your back links indexed.

take the PR 7 backlinked page and drop it on a doc site like slideshare or in the info section of a new YouTube video and if your onpage is good you should hit the top 20 fast.

PR7 and PR5 should be pretty instant. Just double check they are indexed on MajesticSEO or Webmaster Tools.

I got something to share and hope it can help:

I have a lot of backlinks created on forum profiles; these forums generally have high PR and found them by searching through Google. But, I seem to have a problem getting the links recognized and indexed by search engines. I read it in other blogs that it takes up to months to get them indexed by search engines without me doing anything about it. But, I also read about the use of RSS Feeds and submit it to feed sites where it would help in getting the links indexed. Right now I am using the RSS feeds. It’s worth getting as is very good and cheap. But if you have links coming from the same site, then Google will not count extra links that heavily, that is what I have found from experience, so I spread the links around.

I find that a quick Tweet or Google+ gives my backlinks the bump they need however I use this very rarely as all my backlinks have backlinks which means instant indexing.
