What content for a link wheel?

I am new to back linking, I am not going to lie there. All my previous marketing work has been based on extremely low competition keywords. I have now decided to attack some more competitive terms.

I know the principals of link wheels, 1st, 2nd, 3rd tier etc. My question is,

If I build 5 1st tier web 2.0. Do I need to write different content for each?

I have seen this done before but each different web 2.0 had the same article. Does this have a negative effect?

    Well, some people have success at writing one unique article and posting on all 5, or all their 1st tiers. I myself would post all different on all 5. Remember too, you don't want to leave your web20's hanging there with only one article. I would treat each of them, especially your 1st tiers, as your own websites. Using them as buffer sites is fine, to protect your main site, but still put or do what you would do to your own site on these web20's, and dont do what you wouldn't, especially 1st tiers

        Or you could just put a banner on the homepage of your site that says: "I'm employing severely manipulative practices, please kick me". It's not a viable, long-term mechanism. It may produce short term results, even in this day and age, but you're building on sand.

        Writing unique articles is absolutely needed, better yet, write unique articles and post said articles on decent sites and encourage decent, one way links; better yet, create lots of unique content, and post all of the content on unique, independently-owned websites.

        More to the point, link wheels? No-no. Again, numerous better mechanisms. This is 2013, this stuff should be binned. Build links on authoritative domains - the kind of links that are going to hand around, and ultimate contribute much more authority...

          I wouldn't use spun content on these tier 1 sites. I doubt I would even do a rewrite, the time this takes, I could easily write a new article.
          Once the main content is on my money site, these would become my focus, so each site would get 1-2 new articles weekly.

          This is not my only plan of attack. Guest posting etc on blogs with authority. I am looking into building my own private network, but I am finding it hard to find clear information about finding expired domains.,

            Mike Anthony has a PBN guide which looks fairly authoritative, would be worth checking out.

            It's not massively challenging, just make sure you are picking up domains which have a decent trust score (Majestic) behind them, as well as a decent number of referring domains; needless to say, everything needs to be hosted on unique class C IPs (or better yet independent shared hosting accounts), private reg'd and non-existent footprint between domains i.e. no spun/duplicate content, AdSense, Analytics etc.

            GoDaddy auctions is the best place to start - check the closeout auctions for decent domains (they aren't exactly earth-shattering, however you can pick up some decent base PR2 homepage domains in there); copy and paste 500 domains by selecting 500 rows from the dropdown menu, fling them into scrapebox or a bulk PR checker to analyse potential, then do further research. Always check for fake PR too, which is needless to say very common - use the info: command.

              I would ignore Majestic's trust score. There are plenty of good domains that Majestic doesn't give a very good trust score too. PR is far more important than trust score.

              I also would not rely on the info: command for identifying fake PR domains. It is highly unreliable these days.

              I have just followed your instructions in godaddy auctions, and everything came back as PR0. I dont know if I followed it correctly? When I copy and paste the list, it did not just copy the domain, but all the info on the page. bid, traffic, value, price, etc

                Paste into excel first - select "match destination formatting", or paste special and then values.

                Go with register compass . If the fee is too much for you to carry then find a month in which you are willing to spend the cash and do it all in one month and cancel. Scrapebox will give you PR but thats not even half the battle. You need metrics that help you cut down on time spent because the only way to do good domain buying is to check the backlinks and if you have to go though hundreds of backlinks it will take forever.

                In register compass you can filter by the number of links in Google or Open Site explorer and other engines. You can filter by domains not just overall linking. you can search by niche words,filter by actual age of the domain (which increases the chances of finding domain links that are more likely to stick because the site is older and the links have been around for a while). The data is not bullet proof or accurate all the time but it will really cut down on the number of domains to run through backlink checks.

                    PR5 is what I recommend, but they get pricey...I've bought tons of PR4s for 40 bucks with A+ link profiles...you just have to know how to go digging...I list how in the ebook...

                    If you are just starting out in this process, trying to measure the backlink profiles of domains and trying to determine whether or not those links will stay I do not recommend going for really high PR domains that cost a lot of money at first... Ease yourself into it, and as you learn more and more, begin to spend more on domains with higher PR. You don't want to waste your money if you are unsure of your evaluation of all of the important metrics involved. However, if you feel confident in your abilities and have a decent enough budget then by all means go for the gold.

                    PR3 the reason being you can create PR1 and Pr2 s fairly easy with blasting stuff like SENuke. NOt backing them (over priced junk to me) but just being real. Pr3s I have both tested and others have confirmed is where they begin to see results.

              Sorry mate. We don't do that on this board. IF you want to build an email list you keep the links in the sig. We can link to free stuff but not direct promotion of our site with email signup forms.

            I own a digital agency - you know, like with an office and employees; not a bedroom. I've been doing this for eight years - I've researched and analysed more link building mechanisms than you care to imagine. I eat, sleep and breathe links.               I read maybe 2 sentences of your reply...so i really dont care. All I can say is what I do makes me a lot of money...like it or not...it works...and as I mentioned..i dont care if its its long-term or not...i dont care if its quick sand, much less sand that im building on...lol...i make money...thats the end goal with SEO efforts in my opinion...the dollar signs in my bank account is the only score that matters...do your thing and I'll do mine....

              and if you want to put your money where your mouth is, lets both start with 1 new websites, 1 fresh link campaign and see who gets to the first page of google the fastest and who makes the most money, say in a months time...I'll crush you...lol

                  lol...its a blog dude...and i dont have "clients"...i rank niche sites and make affiliate commission...thats it...

                  and im not a web designer nor do i care what the site looks like...its informative...thats the value...

                  just FYI...ive had hundreds of affiliate sites over the years and all built on crappy free themes...so for what i do, what the site looks like simply doesnt matter...lol

              I spin content (well), I use naughty foreign links, I crash and burn sites. I'm an entrepreneur. I'm in business to make money, not to enrich the internet. I am an independently wealthy professional, whether you or any body else agrees with the methods. I've paid my dues.

This is just a reminder that WF is predominately an Internet Marketing forum, some of the inhabitants such as myself are marketers. IM is multifaceted and not one dimensional.                 I'm not presuming to be 'white hat' Paul and you actually speak sense, so there's not an issue - I just took slight exception to being told I'm 'extremely misinformed' (patronised) by someone who set up their main enterprise circa 7 days ago and whose online presence circulates around a WooTheme.

                I appreciate there are many different ways to achieve the same objective, and this isn't in any way a "dick measuring contest" - take a look through the hundred-odd of posts I've made already, not once have I mentioned anything about success, or anything of the sort. I've actually stayed away from it - I usually let everyone else indulge their own lack of self esteem.

                However, face-to-face or via an internet marketing forum, I don't really do being spoken down to (particularly by people who only set-up 7 odd days ago) - as noted above, it wasn't the intention of my post to be arrogant, my success is my own, as is yours, it's not there to flash in-front of other people's eyes for validation.

    Don't depend on Tiered link building only...even though you're using good software like magic submitter or senuke...you'll never go high if you're after highly competitive market...you should go more than that...guest post, social media, forum, etc

    Unless you're after medium quantity market (measure with Market Samurai or SCKA ), My video below is more than enough to rank your site...remember Quality, Velocity, Diversity and Quantity principle...Those principles are what most of people who like messing around with google are practicing...
