How to Safely Outsource Adwords Campaign Management

Hey guys

I have my own internet marketing company and I do local SEO, PPC and other marketing for local businesses in my area...

I currently have 2 Adwords campaigns running for a client of mine and I am doing a pretty crappy job so I decided to hire someone on Freelancer.com to optimize my campaigns and "re-build" and maintain them to get better ad placement and results...

I am worried about giving access to my Adwords account to a stranger because it has my clients billing information in there. i called Adwords support and asked them if I could give someone a certain level of access that would allow them to change the campaigns but keep them from accessing the billing information, but apparently Adwords has NO SUCH THING!

I can't believe that Adwords doesn't have a level of access that allows someone to make changes to a campaign but blocks them from the billing tab. But anyway, they don't..

So I am hoping someone out there has some advice on how I can hire this outsourcer to work on these campaigns without completely risking my clients billing info? Has anyone been in this position before? And if so, how do you recommend I handle it?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much everyone!

Joe

    With respect Joe,
I can't believe your posing yourself as an Internet Marketing Company.
    Offering Adwords Management Services.
    Taking peoples money.
And have no clue how to do the job. Or at least have someone in place on your team of support that can.

It's guys like you who give SEO/SEM a bad name.

    Joe,

It really seems like you got yourself in a pickle there.

If you value ethics in your business, then you shouldn't be selling a service you can't execute. The right thing to do would be to abdicate your current contract for the best of the client's business. That should be paramount always!

Clearly I must have communicated my point the wrong way. All I said was that I was doing a pretty crappy job. I didn't say that I'm wasting my clients money and getting him no business. Maybe I used the wrong choice of words but the campaign is not terrible it is still getting clicks and phone calls And maybe some people would be okay with the way it currently is but I want to get him the absolute most for his money so I am enlisting help. I don't see what is so wrong about that. Like I said I have 12 clients and never have lost one of them. I have ran several successful PPC campaigns in the past However this one I feel could be better. If nobody has any suggestions as to my actual question about granting access then just forget it please. I have a lot of integrity and always do right by my clients. I don't need to be told otherwise. In fact 90% of the time that I start working with a new client they think me and tell me about how they have been burned by other Internet marketing companies in the past So it really strikes a nerve with me when someone tries to tell me that people like me is what's wrong in this business. That's completely uncalled for and undeserved. So never mind everybody I will figure this out on my own thanks anyway

Oh and by the way I'm not charging my client anything to manage this campaign not one penny. I'm doing it as a bonus for him doing SEO with me. So there is no money to give back or cheat him out of to begin with

      That's totally understandable Joe.
And my deepest apologies to you, if you took insult to what I said. But you original post did read like, you where selling services you could not provide. And then bounced on here looking for an ABC guide on how to get away with it.
I'm not the only one who took it like that either. So don't take offense in any way.

With regards to your request for advice on good PPC. I do SEO, and have only a passing knowledge of the PPC field.

There's enough work in SEO for me to keep busy enough. So PPC was something I have just not found the time to dive into.

I hope someone will now offer you help. That the confusion is cleared up a bit.
      Peace
      Kevin

I appreciate the apology very much. I can't help but get defensive when someone says things about my work or how I treat my clients that are insulting or not true. So I'm sorry as well. Thank you... Hopefully someone has a helpful solution because like I said I'm shocked that Google has no option for limited access like that.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

They can't see the credit card information if that's what you're worried about?

There are numerous PPC Management agencies, which typically charge 10-15% of ad spend.
I would recommend you not to give full control of your Google AdWords account to the outsourcing service.

As long as the outsourcer has been given the proper level of access, they won't have access to the credit card information. So no real cause for concern about credit card security.

Also, before you think about outsourcing make sure you have a non-disclosure in place and a non-compete. You don't want them contacting the client directly.

Why none is talking about simple things that is using MCC. If you hire any Adwords expert he/she must have MCC account and all you need to link your Adwords with his MCC. That's it.

    Thanks
