You're definitely not wasting your time. Try dissecting what you are doing to see where the problem is.

Are you getting impressions on your ad?
Are people clicking your ad?
Are people opting in for your lead magnet?
Are people purchasing your offer?

This may not be your exact setup but it could be similar, where in the process is broken? When you identify that, you can start to make better decisions on what to do next.

So after some reflecting, I've decided I need to go into hardcore list-building mode because that will take me further forward than anything else.

For this journey, I'm going to hold off on promoting my own monthly recurring offer straight away. Firstly because conversions on the offer are not yet proven, my plan is to make use of proven to convert affiliate offers while building my list in the hopes to at least break even then I will launch my own recurring offer to make use of deadlines, urgency, limited launch only bonuses, etc to hopefully convert more people in one go, thus hitting my $5k MRR target.

Regarding our other site that I built for my girlfriend. I'm going to start running paid traffic and work on email marketing.

I am setting up tracking on both sites now.

  Go to your user name in the tool bar. When the drop down box appears. At the bottom you will see Classic view. Click on that. It is so much easier for those still on Classic to know who you are talking to.

[UPDATE] - I have set up my lead funnel, tracking is in place and I have bought some solo ads.

I have also put 6 affiliate offers on a rotator link that a new subscriber will have the option to click when they land on my bridge page.

I chose offers that have proven to convert well, have low refund rates and I got some benefit from when I went through them.

I have also set up retargeting pixels from Facebook and Google which I plan to deploy later down the road.

Yeah, it definitely can be applied to different niches. It's just a low-cost monthly membership. She delivers at least 3 new tutorials each week, the video's are usually less than 5 mins in lengths and recorded and edited on her phone.

Its a lot less work than doing 8+ clients a day for atleast an hour each.

Happy to answer any questions you have, and I will be adding some updates about the site every now and then because I am working on growing our members at the same time as this challenge.

[UPDATE] - Traffic has started to come in this morning. I've had about 54 unique clicks so far, a 20.4% conversion rate on my opt-in page. One variation of my squeeze page is converting at 26.7% while the other is converting at only 12.5% and I have made a couple of sales on my chosen affiliate offers, $14.14 to be exact.

It is very early in the process but things are looking promising, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out as more traffic comes in and I start email marketing.

[UPDATE] - The 9-5 has been a biatch recently, and I just started working with an online personal trainer and I swear he believes I am trying to be a bodybuilder, he has me eating 6 times a day, taking a crap ton of supplements and training twice a day.

I know this all sounds like excuses, but that is exactly what it is. IM FREAKING TIRED!!

With my moaning out the way it's time to tell you whats been happening.

My squeeze page converted pretty sh*t, I was trying to balance having an enticing offer while weeding out time wasters, but a couple of the solo ad providers declined my money because they felt it was not a good fit for their audience.

So attempt number 2 I am going to switch up the offer and select 1 main product as my offer that will go out in my daily emails (that I have not started yet).

I am going to make everything as specific as possible.

I haven't had an update in a while. So I started making a few more sales through my current funnel but I am concerned that I need a stronger offer that can brand me better and get my customer better results.

So I have found an offer that I think is amazing and I have spent a few days going through it fully to make sure I can stand behind it 100% and would even sell it to my mother if she was in the market.

UPDATE: The site with my girlfriend did $5159.61 last month. We have been working really hard to grow it.

Due to limited time, I focused only on that site and my current day job. My other site had to sit on the back burner because I was spreading myself too thin to get any traction.

The current MRR (monthly recurring revenue) at the time of writing is $4517.67 it is enough for me to leave my day job and double down on growth.

80% of the time will be focused on the site built with my girlfriend and 20% on more experimental other channels.

doing so well, why not expand upon that by
creating more beauty content and additional
membership sites demonstrating other beauty
techniques, perhaps hairstyles, pedicures and
other salon type services.

As someone who retired early from full-time

to encourage you that if you've been able to
get all of this done on a part-time basis, you
should be able to do even more full-time,
especially if you manage your time wisely

UPDATE: We consistently do well over $5,000 in monthly revenue now, that is from recurring payments, brand deals, and other product sales (in this niche) combined.

Pure MRR (monthly recurring revenue) as of writing this is $4808.68 so close to the target. But as I am now full-time on the business I expect to blow past that very soon.

I would say the major contributing factors to us getting here is consistently growing our audience, putting offers in front of them (giving them an opportunity to buy every day), and actually caring about our customers.

UPDATE: So I got engaged at the weekend. I proposed to my long-time girlfriend and business partner on her birthday and I thought it would be a good idea to use the occasion as a promotion.

I thought that people buy into a story and she is well-loved in the niche so all the congrat's messages on social media will drive more eyeballs to our offer which was a limited 30% discount on either your first month or your first full year if you take the yearly payment option.

It worked exactly how we hoped. It has taken our MRR to $5457.19 and with a lot of people taking the 30% discount on the yearly option (which gave 2 months free already), we had our best day so far with a net revenue of $1166.52 on the last day of the promotion which was yesterday.

Update: Last month was our best month so far with our membership site. We did $7476.48 which was dope as we're well on our way to a 6 figure membership.
