today i have ordered the webhosting package $1.99/mo. and noticed that i dont have access to Fantastico in order to install wordpress in the addon domains, so my question is? was this a bug or you dont have Fantastico enabled in the CPANEL?

VPS servers are not permitted to run CPU mining programs. Shared Webhosting Restrictions: The Client is allowed to freely install CGI/PHP applications; however, Interserver reserves the right to disable any application that unreasonably effects or interferes with normal server operations. Said situation is highly unlikely. Some scripts and sites are not allowed on shared hosting: *Tube / youtube clone sites, file archives, mirror sites, image and file upload sites. No single shared hosting account is permitted to use more that 20% of the server resources at a time. A single account is limited to 250,000 inodes at any given time. You need a domain name during the order process. But it does not need to be a valid domain. You can make one up and change it later. You can also use a sub domain like (name.domain.com).

Personally, I have never been happier!


I had been with Bluehost for over 10 years and I like Interserver a whole lot better.

1. I don't see all the advertising clutter like Bluehost has in its cPanel.
2. I don't have to kill my server every 3 years to renew up at the $3.95/mo rate.
3. I get everything I had with Bluehost AND a Dedicated IP on top of it for $3.99/mo.
4. I can go directly from my cPanel into webmail without typing a password.
5. Interserver allows a 'catchall' email address which neither Bluehost/Hostgator allow.
6. Interserver's speeds aren't capped at 7-8 Mbps like other unlimited servers.

A dedicated IP with Bluehost will cost you an extra $30/year if I recall right!


I have fully tested Interserver's speeds using my Dedicated 1Gbps Windows overseas server while tunneled through a PuTTY/SSH 4096-bit RSA secured connection, and Interserver's speeds are better than Bluehost (capped at 7/8 Mbps). I was always able to bury the needle, with results always over 100Mbps both up & down with Interserver, no matter when I tested.


Note: What I did to measure speeds... I generated two 4096-bit SSH-2 RSA key pairs using PuTTYgen. I installed the public keys on Bluehost and Interserver, and installed the private keys on my IIS server in Zlin (Czech Republic). I then used Remote Desktop to access Firefox on my server. I set Firefox to use the PuTTY proxy tunnels (under options) and browsed to speedtest.net via the address bar. I tested both Bluehost and Interserver via their respective proxies. Without any proxies, using SpeedTest.net I get speeds of over 900Mbps both up/down. Tunneling limited this speed through both services respectively. Interserver won hands down as the faster service.


I have been a loyal Interserver customer since Feb 28... have SSH and WebDav enabled and my own Dedicated IP. Everything else is standard child's play -- cPanel is cPanel and there is no weird hardware or anything else sub par with this service.


I am going to be adding a Windows VPS w/$1 per month Dedicate IP, which will put me out of pocket $11.00/mo. A Linux box, a Windows box, and two dedicated IP's for $14.99/mo is unreal. And the support is wonderful via email, but they do take a day off on weekends.

I'm not looking for any handouts, but a Windows VPS coupon would sure be nice.

If you are impatient and don't know what you are doing, don't go with Interserver. Mike specifically stated the discounts are for those who know what they are doing, and therefore need less support. It's a kickback from Mike to you.

Sorry I am not really techie in this VPS stuff but if i have several software that I would like to install in my multiple PC,s or laptops to run 24/7 to get things done quickly, I have to buy PC's or laptops and set the internet connection at my home and run them continuously 24/7 without switching off the power.

Correct me if i am wrong, can i say that if I buy one VPS package, I can install any windows software which I can run continuously 24/7, so that I dont need to buy my own PC at home to run the software myself?

I was able to totally get rid of my dedicated server in Zlin => 70GB Ram, 12TB HD (4 disks x 3TB), 1GB BW (unmetered). It took a whole month to download and verify everything (Zlin => local) @15.93 Mbps [7GB per hour] -- and then I dumped my dedicated server in Zlin.

I also just recently offloaded all my BlueHost emails and websites, and dumped my BlueHost account, too! After giving InterServer a test run, I have switched everything over to local development/management and InterServer Web Hosting & InterServer VPS.

With my (would be) Zlin server payments [budget] I've upgraded my systems locally (Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD and 2 x Seagate 5TB Expansion Desktop Drives).

I develop locally, use my InterServer VPS for a staging area, and use my InterServer WebHosting account as both an email server and for secure PuTTY SSH tunneling. All my servers/systems 'talk' to each other.

What used to cost me hundreds of dollars monthly (in Euros), now costs $13.99 with InterServer, and I am able to divert money saved to upgrade my systems locally.

I currently have two (2) active accounts at InterServer with two (2) dedicated IPs. I have a Web Hosting account since Feb 28, 2015 and a VPS account since May 12, 2015.

I am very satisfied with InterServer and haven't needed any support lately (since May 13, 2015 [VPS setup] -- &Web Hosting => Feb 28, 2015 for SSH/FTP, May 11, 2015 for WebDav [VPS related]).
