What is the difference in using website builders like synthasite or tiptopwebsite which takes minutes to build etc compared to usual website building where you upload files to your server and so on......
Can I monetize a website build by these website building software and hosted by them for PPC and SEO?
Actually I was thinking of building websites for local business using site builders but I feel there is a missing link!
I am intimidated in learning technical jargons like css, php, scrips etc can someone out there give me a short cut!

Hi Peter (awesome name!), a site builder is generally less flexible than if you were to build it yourself (or pay someone to do it). It might also create unnecessary code which increases the file size and hence load times.

You are often restricted to the templates that come with the site builder.

I highly recommend you buy a book and learn how to use dreamweaver or expression web. If you can use microsoft word, then you can use a website editor!

One thing you could try is to get the sale from the local business and then outsource the work by posting a project on scriptlance.com. You'll be able to get a professional site created for 20-30% what you charge the business and you pocket the difference.

    Hi Peter,
I is always better to create webdesign tailored to your requirements, instead of using fixed templates.
Development wise also best if you use Dreamweaver of Frontpage.
The code will be cleaner and more flexible to changes which might required by you time to time.

    Best of Luck

The shortcut is Xsitepro- it's absolutely brilliant and easy to use, and you can do lots with it and create great looking sites.

I would just work on learning how to code it out yourself. It will be far more rewarding in the long run!

If you want lessons, I offer private lessons on these types of things.

    Hi PeterBenson,
For years I used just about every "website maker" out there, I then went on to "Dreamweaver". I now use Microsoft Expression Web2, which I think is the best.
The long and short of it is you must learn css/xhtml.

Yes you can use softwares to build your site but if you wish to start from crash then i will suggest you to hire some freelancers for this job instead of spending lot of time to learn all those stuff

Hey Peter - I'm a longtime Dreamweaver user but in the past 2 years have switched over to using WordPress for almost all of my sites. Sure it's wordpress so it does blogs really well, but it's now really easy to use for a typical "static" site of just about any size.

There are hundreds of great free templates available that you can customize with a few simple image and css edits - or you can buy great professional themes for under $100 and they often come with the ability to easily customize it yourself.

    HTH,

    Steve
