Me Again a spot of bother

I'm so sorry that people are copying your work and not giving you credit for it. *sigh*

Nevertheless, pointing it out to the help desk is a good idea. Chances are, if the person (or people) stole from you... they've stolen from others and will continue to spoil things until they receive a warning.

I'd also bet the help desk has been keeping an eye on them, just waiting for someone to say something.

Even when content is spun, that's still a "derivative work" and -- in the U.S. and several other countries -- a copyright violation. I'm pretty sure the Warrior Forum takes that seriously.

Meanwhile, I'm going to PM you. I'm not likely to make cold calls (I'm practically allergic to them), but I enjoy reading your enthusiastic posts and your refreshing writing style.

Writing like yours has a "voice," and that's lost when people spin articles.

It's kind of like recorded music: I'll always prefer the rough, ragged squawks and missed-notes of a brand new band, as opposed to the perfected-within-an-inch-of-its-life version that's later produced by mixers in the studio.

So, keep writing. Keep sharing what you're doing, so others can benefit from it.

Thank you!

Hi Owen,

Happy Birthday for Saturday "x"

Please report this problem to the help desk.
Point them to the original content (post) from your blog and then give them a link to the forum post where your content has been stolen.

If they agree your content has been used, they will deal with the offenders.

Ok HeresHow i've got on so far!!

Hi Lexy
Thank you for your comment that is one of the parts I am working on, or was earlier and will be tomorrow.
I have a pretty good turn around on that and more often than not get a laugh. but you are right it doesn't feel right when i say it.however i have a problem
i cannot say could you give me a minute of your time and ill tell you why.
They expect that as it is what everyone says, if they expect it they can shut you down quick as they have a response immediately and do not need to think. what i am trying to do with this is make it unique and therefore they have never herd it and cannot process as fast as we can if we are ready for them.
so if you want to help me out could anyone think of another phrase to replace that one.
Thanks again Lexy you do have a good point its a little condescending and I will play with some calls tomorrow and try figure out another phrase.

You're obviously doing well with this, and enjoying it, and learning from it as you go along too ... and I'm wishing you well with it; and thanks for posting it.

I suspect that quite a bit of what people call "cold calling" can actually be moderately warm calling? Or at least, when it isn't you find that out immediately, anyway?

Please excuse the observation that (as a customer) I'd hate the "46 seconds" touch and would much prefer "Are you free to talk for just a minute?", or even "45 seconds".

If by any chance you don't already know of it, this website's going to interest you a lot (and I think there's a forum there, too). His book's interesting, and you can download 4 chapters free. Good luck!

Cold calling

Brilliant advice, Owen, thank you!

(Keep notes, write up what works & what doesn't, and maybe turn it into a report that's a WSO? I'm guessing that a lot of people have the same anxieties I do, about cold calls. And, with so much focus on working with offline clients, this info could be very valuable to Warriors in general.)

Cold calling

Eibhlin

Ill be honest if you asked me to make cold calls 2 days ago id of said no way!! i was so scared of rejection it wasnt even funny but i used a little trick i read.
look at each call as 1 out of 10 2 out of ten thats what i did the first day but the second day after all the leads i had the first day i loved it and i relaxed and they felt it im gonna post up a framework tmw of the best way to get your info over fast so before they really know whats going on they've agreed to a meeting and it really seems to be working for me!! i wish you all the best

Cold calling

Good for you! I've had to make cold calls for TV producers, and I absolutely hate making those calls. (In other words: It's no easier to place cold calls for someone else.)

For my own business model, I focus on no calls of any kind... as much as possible. I admit it: I can write & write & write, but when it comes to phone contact or face-to-face selling, I'm terrified.

So, I have tremendous respect for anyone who not only makes cold calls, but also has the kind of success that you have. Three out of ten resulted in appointments, and most of the others will lead to business as well. Wow!

Thanks for posting this. It's a reminder that cold calls don't have to be scary.
