As usual, I was updating my blog with content and have been doing so on a consistent basis. I've even had a few subscribers to my RSS feed. And 1 regular visitor that comments quite often (without asking me to reciprocate comments!)

... But I've never really had that "EXPLOSION" of traffic. I knew some SEO, so I optimised my posts, they turned up in search engine - great. But still, nothing major. No usual referred from Google for search terms.

And then, it dawned upon me.

My blog title.

It's "More Money To Spend" and my tagline is "Isn't That What Everyone Wants?"

...

*slaps forehead*

IDIOT!

I SEO'd my blog posts and SEO'd a lot of stuff but I didn't SEO the blog ITSELF.

Lesson learnt.

I just changed it and hopefully, it'll turn up more regularly in the search engines. When I started IM, I was super excited that I got number 1 for "More Money To Spend" search term. That was in August 2008.

After a month, it dawned upon me that about 3 people search for "More Money To Spend" - my, myself and Asher.

After 2 months, which is now, it dawned upon me that I didn't SEO the main thing that people and search engines look at.

Lesson well learnt.
