You know most people still do not know what the law is and it has been discussed many times, but few people really know the real truth, here are seven things that you should know about email marketing and the FTC.

Curious about where this information comes from check out the video...

Seven Things you should know about email marketing...

1. No False or misleading header information.

From and To reply to fields must be accurate…

You must identify your self and your business, (no fake names or fake companies)

2. No deceptive subject lines.

Subject line must be accurate, you cannot say free product, then in small print (as long as you buy another product from this link) that is not free and it is a violation of the FTC guides.

3. Identify that the message is an Ad

Disclosures must be included, that the email is an advertisement and the disclosure must be conspicuous, easy to find, (no more small print) it must be easy to understand and read.

4. Give your Address, Street, address, PO box,

5. Must tell them how to opt out, unsubscribe

Easy to find and understand, contact information must be posted, and unsubscribing information must be implemented.

6. Promptly remove a users email address and you cannot sell that email address.
You cannot sell an email address when someone leaves your list.

7. You are responsible for complying with the law.

You and the company you hired to email a list can be fined up to $16,000.00 per violation, imagine if you were to mail out to a list of ten thousand email addresses that would be a huge amount of money.

Yes, I was actually a little amazed at some of the requirements that even the gurus are not complying with, when I found the video I thought it would be a good thing to share with other warriors,
