My 10-Minute $5000 Free Report
Posted 7th August 2008 at 12:18 AM by Thomas
With all the great marketing products floating about, it's easy to forget the "old ways".
Despite writing it over 7 years ago, I never thought to produce a small free report to promote a bad breath product that I sell on Clickbank until early last year.
When I finally "got round to it" (my favourite excuse), I produced a tiny (1 page) article and a wee screenshot of my salespage at the end, all compiled into a PDF.
I only put it in the free e-books section of this forum and, although I didn't put any tracking codes into the links in it (as I said... I'm lazy), I did do a bit of mathemaical jiggery-pokery with my sales-stats (not that lazy, though!) and can attribute at least 30 sales within 2 weeks to that report. It's a $29.97 product so I make that $899.10 (less CB fees).
A year later, and the report has filtered out to other places. I still don't know the exact metrics invlived but, with my increasingly sophisticated jiggery-pokery system, I conservatively guesstimate at least $5000 in sales can be attributed to it.
The whole thing only took about 10-minutes from starting writing the article to writing the blurb in the free e-book section.
(Admittedly, I had the bones of my article in my "Might do something with these if I ever get around to it" folder.)
$5000 for 10 minutes work... the eqivalent hourly rate would be $30,000.00!
Not too bad at all...
