What else do you offer to secure a stable monthy income: Local Business Website Design

Offering websites to local business owners is a good business. I plan to start one of my own. This business seems to have a very good prospects. But, I couldn't find any other services I could offer for stable monthly income to reach my monthly income target.

Roughly I did my pricing for the service and to cover the reseller domain and hosting. It includes in the one time payment of the website. I couldn't find any other services I could charge to my future clients to secure my monthly income apart from web hosting and domain maintenance. I don't think local SEO could offer much and I don't think most of them want me to maintain their blogs, forums, or social media. What else could I offer?

You need to do some reading around on this forum...

Web design is just the BEGINNING, framework, cement. The real money is NOT in monthly maintenance/hosting.

What makes you believe that local SEO is not profitable for small businesses? I don't mean to be harsh but, you are 200% WRONG.

The key is to upsell...once you have a client for a website design, you need to show them HOW valuable SEO, SMM, ORM, etc. is to their business. Which is why I said you need to do some reading first. Because it appears that YOU don't even see value in these services.

You need to take a few steps back and educate yourself before offering a "professional" service to offline businesses.

Local marketing is where the money is, and on a regular bases.

Build a site for someone, they may recommend you. Make MONEY for someone they will be sending their business friends running to your door

I know SEO can give a lot monthly what I mean is, in the local area I targeted, there is not much competition so there is not much you have to do to rank number 1 in local search engine. For social media marketing, most of them want to update themselves.

Thanks. But that does not a secure amount of monthly income. By doing that, you get the money if you have business.

The fact that there's not a lot of competition in your local area is a GREAT thing. Regular business owners have no clue how to get on top of Google, and even if you think it might be "easy" you would still be providing huge value.

About social media marketing, most people want to update themselves (or at least not pay for it) everywhere, in all cities, not just your local area. This just means that they're not your market and you will need to find the people who understands what value you can provide to them.

Cheap but high class web design. Not much profit but your foot is the door. Pays the bills.

Then you make your money on the back end passive earners.

FB pages, SEO,ppc, videos,PR,articles, anythong else they want. Outosurce it all for 50% profits. Go for monthly services if you can. Enjoy.

Know your business. Most small business are just getting by. Alright everyone seems to think biz = big proftis. just not true. (especially since 2009) They will not likely shell out more than a few hundred $$'s for anything. But it can still be lucrative if done in enough numbers.

As you go up the scale you can sell higher tickets items.

For instance G.M. have a $4.5BN ad budget every year. Imagine tapping into that for a measely $1m project. I can only imagine what others are. Easily $1bn to $6bn+

But you have to work your way up. Start with mom and pop.....end up at Starbucks, or coke, Disney etc...

Small businesses need a way to get feedback from their customers, offer them an autoresponder service - What about a business plan to expand, SEO services, coupon delivery, monthly hosting, Good website design can be expanded into other locals so you arenot limited to your local businesses. Website traffic, think outside the website box... you'll be sucessful. Facebook pages.. and on and on

Not sure why you think SEO wouldn't be a good idea. For me, SEO brings in the most revenue and provides the most verifiable results/benefits to my clients.

    Other services:
    - SMS text campaigns
    - PPC campaign management
    - Online reputation management
    - Copywriting
    - Video marketing
    - Affiliate setup

I have always called them packages. The new buzzword is "Bundles."

You "Bundle" several ongoing services and offer it at a monthly fee.
Better yet, offer THREE bundles. One so cheap that you rarely have
to leave empty-handed. The second is the one you really want to sell,
mid-priced. The third is the most expensive and makes the second
    one look like a bargain.

To make it unique, I may include an article a month written by MY
professional staff. I always include a listing in MY directory, or a
video. These are things NO ONE else can offer my customers.

    Love the residual income.

Yeah, I now agree that SEO can provide huge income, but still not sure how to charge them though.

I am interested in giving online reputation management but still learning the details regarding that. As for affiliate setup, what market/niche can I do this? Currently my target is painters, plumbers, and repair services.

Offer them a mobile website. If your using wordpress, maybe you can just install a script that detects a phone and turns on the mobile site. Theirs dozens on fiverr whod do it for 5 measly bucks and you can upsell this for $100+ easily. Always show mobile statistics, it gets them going
