Use OpenCart and build your site. It's free and easy to maintain. Don't use WordPress. Yes, there are e-commerce plugins out there, but remember it was developed as a blogging platform!

I cashed a cheque the other day which was six years old. The bank didn't batter an eye lid and the money went into my account. :/ That's where I got that idea! (this was a business cheque)

Not necessarily. There is a higher perceived quality there, but it doesn't always mean that the quality is higher just because you offer less for the money. I know some pretty amazing Fiverr writers...

You're not allowed to contact buyers now unless it is through the 'request' system. If the buyer reports you, you will lose a level/affect your chances of gaining levels.

Never going to happen. The free hosting will have certain requirements in place, break them and you lose the service. They can do whatever they want to your site. The domain name will be the same too.
