Re: What books are you reading?

My all-time favorite in the personal development field is Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz (I recommend the Dan Kennedy version.) It's a great combination of the science of success (from an...

Re: The Law of Attraction - Are You a Believer?

Thanks for sharing your story. It's encouraging to hear about the results you got.

The key is that you took action and that you saw results across all sorts of areas - even those you were not...

Re: Is this the best Personal Development book ever?

Thanks for the tip about John Assaraf. I've seen some of his material and really like the way he combines the science with practical application. However, I've not read any of his books yet so I'll...

Re: Is this the best Personal Development book ever?

Hi Alex - Thanks for the tip. Am I right in thinking he normally publishes as Denis Waitley? I think his name may actually be Denis Alan Waitley.

Descriptions I've read for books by Denis Waitley...

I'm sure you'll enjoy it John. And thanks for the tip about You Tube - I hadn't seen that interview.

Re: Is this the best Personal Development book ever?

Agreed Loren.

There are several other good books out there. Some of them are a bit theoretical and it's the depth of the psychology in this one that really appealed to me.

Best regards

Is this the best Personal Development book ever?

If I'd read this book a few years ago, I could have saved myself the weeks of time and thousands of dollars I spent learning NLP, hypnosis and other aspects of personal development.

The book is...

Re: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I agree with those who define introversion/extraversion as being based on how you like to relax. You can be an introvert and also quite sociable.

Sometimes people see being introverted as a...

Re: Are You Having Enough Time In Your Life?

Great tips Vincent

It's always puzzled me that the busier I am the more I get done. Tasks do have a habit of expanding to fill the time we allocate for them so sometimes setting ourselves very...

Re: Which is more important to you in terms of success out of these 3..

It's pretty dangerous to put money at the top of that list. That means you'd give up your health and your relationships for money. But it makes you think because perhaps that's what we end up doing...

Re: What do you do when you're feeling down?

One of the best and easiest things you can do is change your physiology. As others have said, getting some exercise can help. But just standing up straight and smiling makes it harder to feel bad.

Re: Success Equation – Must Have Components of Success

Great list because it is comprehensive. Some of the points you make - such as friendship and leverage - don't usually appear in these types of lists. However they are very important to achieving...

Re: Which mind/self-help techniques do you do on a daily basis?

Top for me is the Hawaiian mind-clearing technique of Ho'oponono. I've also recently got into binaural beats, which is easy to fit into the daily routine.

Best regards

Re: The Single Most Important Thing That Brings Success

I believe the essential of success is knowing what you want and staying focused on it (or crystal clear focus as DynamicMentalFitness says). Success can only be achieved if you know what it looks...

Re: Become Successful By Expecting Success

One of the big things that stuck in my mind from studying NLP is that you get what you focus on. Focus on success and that's what you get. If you focus on the obstacles, well you will find plenty!

Re: When things are just going so great, you can't concentrate anymore... What do you do?

Maybe the best approach is to take some time off and enjoy your happy state. Sometimes we get so focused on doing things that we forget the attractions of doing nothing for a while!

Best regards

Re: How I made more than $12K in 5 weeks on my 1st try - revisited

That's a very inspiring story and thanks for sharing it.

One of the big lessons I think is that you decided what to do, found a good source of information and then followed the advice.

There's...

Re: Are self-improvement techniques exploited?

You make a lot of good points there. I think it's possible that a lot of the self development industry is more focused on making money for the people who produce it than on helping the customers. But...

Re: Warriors, where does your health fall in your priority list?

It's a great point because we'd all say that health is important. But truth is we probably don't take it seriously until something goes wrong and that can sometimes be too late.

Can I add sitting...

I'm also a big fan of Ho'oponopono.

Also from the Hawaiian tradition, the Higher Self Connection is extremely powerful and using the two techniques together is literally mind-blowing.

Re: the most important ingredient for success!

If it has to be a choice, then I'd go for Action. Nothing is achieved without action. But without intention, the action may be unfocused and ineffective. Desire is good but is not always essential.
