TO QUIT OR NOT TO QUIT ? !

I was a little horrified to say the least when I spotted a post where a member was actually asking other members whether to quit their day job and focus on online marketing career. BTW they state they are making 50% of what their decent day job brings in which pays the bills, rent etc. Clearly they are not a newbie which is reassuring!
While I think its good to share and offer opinion, surely in this cyber world, where many people choose to remain faceless, advice on giving up one career for another can really only be made by the person asking the question?
Since when did responsibility for career guidance come from people who do not know you, or anything about you, beyond your avatar and username!!
The right decision for the member could well be YES, GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOB!! However they - and only they - MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND OWNERSHIP FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
Sure, it is great to get opinions, however something as fundamental as dropping an income stream (which still exceeds the IM one) is fairly big and without additional information on the member (which none of the respondents asked about) surely "a right answer" can never be offered?
Getting advice from others about when they gave up their "boring day jobs" and made a decent fortune online is one thing, but to look for an answer to something which ultimately will fundamentally shape your future SURELY MUST COME FROM YOU!
Taking responsibility for your own actions is overlooked too often in life and many budding marketeers know in themselves when the time is right to fully focus on IM and cut off their day job income stream.
I think its great to take the right risks, however - again - the decision, responsibility and consequence of the action of taking the risk lies with you and noone else.
Forums (in their various forms) serve to share ideas, thoughts, concepts, business ideas etc etc however when we start to see people asking for others to make their decisions for them, SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG!
If you are ever struggling to make a decision in life you either are not ready to contemplate the decision (timing simply not right) or you have not armed yourself (or educated yourself) with enough information regarding your proposed decision and potential consequences.
Many go for coaching to enable them to coherently make their own decisions at a pace that enables them to feel prepared and informed when they do decide to go for it!
ALL my clients have used their coaching sessions online or face to face to get to the end point but NEVER EVER ever have I told them what to do!
You have to make it on your own!
Fools Rush In - Never a truer word spoken!
Your comments are greatly appreciated.
Have a great day
