Offline Selling - Part 1

There will be several blog postings about this but lets recap.

You got in front of your target audience, you pitched them for the initial meeting and now you are sitting face to face. What the hell do you do now.

We'll it depends. For instance if you pitched them on finding out more about autoresponders and they want to know about autoresponders then well... you talk about autoresponders.

But what if you are just there to talk to them about internet marketing...

Success Step 3 - What to give them

Ok so you've decided if you are going to do a spray and pray approach to marketing to offline businesses OR a laser targeted approach.

Next you've decided how you want to approach that market - cold calling, door to door sales, letters or postcards, etc.

So what are you going to send them?

If you've decided to do a spray and pray approach then I recommend an offer for them to respond to you and request.

Success Step 2 - Contacting Offline Businesses

Ok so you've got your target businesses picked out. You know who you want to go after and if that list is thousands deep, hundreds deep, or just a handful of big clients.

How many people you want to go after determines the way you approach them.

If you've picked a few hundred or thousand to go after you can't possibly call or visit their store front. I mean I guess if you wanted to make 50 calls a day or visit...

Success Step 1: Having their business model in mind

Do you want to be a fast food restaurant or a fine dining establishment?

I know you don't sell food but you need to figure out quickly do you want to be a jack of all trades and serve anyone or everyone?

Or would you rather be a business that caters to a select few customers and not anyone with a pulse?

If you want to be all things to all people then set your business up as a volume based business....
