Re: The effect of PS, PPS, PPPS in Sales Letters

My experience is that a single PS line can be effective, especially to redirect attention back to the body of the letter as has already been mentioned. However, multiple post scripts tend to detract...

Re: Am I allowed to give promises in a salesletter?

You are certainly "allowed" to give promises and guarantees in a sales letter. However, as a matter of convention, this is not a good idea. Anything that says always or never tends to be dangerous....

Re: Do You Have CopyWriting Ethics?

I believe the technicality here is much like photography, the end user only purchase rights to use, not the acutal copyright. That being said, I do not provide any client information to any outside...

Re: Please advise me with this copy for my website's home page

I hate to say it, especially since others have already said it, though very abruptly, marketing is no longer a function of the average business telling the average consumer what it thinks they should...

Re: How do you Improve your Editing Skills??

I have three suggestions that help me. First, never trust the memory concerning style convention. Always keep the authority manuals on hand and refer to them at the slightest misgiving. Second,...

Re: Bold, Italic or Underlined?

I prefer bold text. Eyesight does not always play favorites with italics and underlining is still over-emphatic and denigrates the fluidity of copy.

Re: What Magazines to buy that contain useful ads?

Luxe and the Roy Report are two of my favorite magazines for advertising. For text I suggest The New Yorker and yes, Playboy. The New York Times, Village Voice, Washington Post are good newspapers...

Re: Sex, Drugs and Internet Marketing

I think there is a caution here. You have to know your audience. Shock appeal is not always appealing, nor is it always appropriate. A daycare advertising open enrollment shouldnt use a headline...
