I'd definitely take the Google Places route. Places ranks higher than organic in most cases and the higher the ranking the more clicks. Places rules.

I have a friend that owned a buy here pay here car lot. They typically make about 50% on a car. Sell one for $3000 and make $1500.

You can easily make them the $1500 back with just a sale...

Looks like the majority like Host Gator here. I have sites on Host Gator and Blue Host. I tend to like Blue Host better. Their cpanel offers a little more and you get a free domain that is registered...

You can register at bluehost and they include "domain privacy" They also include a cpanel to manipulate from the back end.

I've never had any problems with Blue Host, they're service and up-time...
