WSO sellers breaking the rules of civility?

They will Steal your product…
How to protect a product?
Interesting. Now I'm curious about what can be done to secure a product or actions to take if a product makes its way into file sharing.Posted 30th September 2013 at 07:18 AM by MJ Collins

Reviews, Are they Real or are they misleading?
I am of the school of thought that says "let the product speak for itself". Testimonials are fine and even necessary. However I wouldn't touch a product that starts with testimonials/reviews in the sales thread before I even get to see the product. I don't even bother to read through such sales pages. After all, if the product is so great and worthy of my hard earned dollar, why does it need so many people to convince me? Why not just present the product and let the listed benefits and features speak for the product? Overdone testimonials are a big no-no and they just set off extremely loud alarm bells which in turn keep my dollars firmly in my pocket. Too sleazy for my liking!Posted 29th September 2013 at 05:15 PM by Patbinc

The Google Dance, SEO websites, SEO Content, SEO Backlinks.
I agree with you, Tim! Working within the ethical framework is better than taking shortcuts. Shortcuts will be found out---search engines are constantly developing methods to catch cheaters!Posted 16th January 2012 at 01:11 PM by David Sneen

WSO sellers breaking the rules of civility?
*nod* There are wonderful people at the Warrior Forum. In fact, I'd say that the majority of people here are truly good, caring and considerate.
Most of the problems come from unethical sellers.
But, there are also rumblings at (and about) the War Room, where helpful posts -- selling absolutely nothing but offering the kind of free resources I appreciate -- are being deleted or never approved in the first place.
Things seem to be changing -- not just here, but in the IM community, in general -- and not for the better.
I really do like most of the people I meet here. However, the (admittedly few) bad apples are making it less fun to participate, and that's pushing people like me to carefully consider if time is well-spent here.Posted 24th September 2011 at 10:23 AM by eibhlin

WSO sellers breaking the rules of civility?
Sometimes it feels that way and I dont blame you but there are a lot of good people here, I have also noticed that I am being marketed to by (marketers that I dont even know never signed up to any kind of email from them, and I traced it back to a WSO seller) that really makes me angry, hopefully action will be taken to reduce this kind of abuse, in the future, )Posted 24th September 2011 at 10:01 AM by Tim Franklin

WSO sellers breaking the rules of civility?
Thanks for posting this. I'd begun wondering if the extra/spammy emails were just my imagination.
Now I'm nodding in dismay and agreement.
Every day, I look at my incoming emails and wonder who some of these people are. I've actually started using different first names so I can tell who's selling my info to whom.
I never want to leave a list related to a product I've bought (and may need the free update for), but I'm close to leaving almost all IM-related lists. The time I spend going through junk emails... it's not worth it.
The number of Warriors I still trust can be counted on one hand.
The sad thing is, so many Warriors started out great and had a sterling level of integrity. I recommended them to others, with unabashed enthusiasm.
Now, I click on links in their emails and I have to click three or four, "Yes, I really want to leave this page" buttons just to close that tab.
Ick.
I understand that times are tough. I didn't need the IMF to tell me that! *chuckle and sigh*
However, desperation is unattractive. It also belies all claims that the person is making 5+ figures/month from his (or her) IM business.
I could be wrong, but it seems to me that no one who's earning $50k/month needs to stoop to questionable and outright illegal practices.
Selling my email address to others, or harassing me with spammy offers... that's the shortest route to losing my trust.
I'm close to quitting the Warrior Forum altogether.
Anything I really need to know... well, I'll hear about it from the three or four people whose emails I'll continue to read.
And, on the rare occasions when I buy something, I'll use a unique, fake name to filter & auto-delete every email sent to me (after the download) so I'm not bothered with spam from the seller and everyone he (or she) sells my email address to.
In other words: Like you, I'm irked.
I want to believe the best of the people I've met here in the Warrior Forum. I want to continue to freely share things I discover that may help others. I want to find cool products to review & recommend, so others know who to trust.
However, I'm weighing the pros & cons of this community, and I'm close to taking the WF off my bookmarks.Posted 24th September 2011 at 09:52 AM by eibhlin

Ipad, Watch out for the App Mongers,
I stumbled onto your blog via the "random blog post" link at WF.
This entry was good advice! (I'm sympathetic about NDAs, as well. It can be frustrating to work around them.)
I took Kevin's video course when it was first launched. It's a tremendous course that makes video easy and far less intimidating. Even with no video camera and no budget for software, Kevin's course got me started with my own videos... and, by following his advice, they turned out far better than I'd ever hoped.
Of course, Kevin is reliable. His products almost always over-deliver, and they're assembled for newbies as well as people who've been online since forever.
So, I'm nodding in agreement with everything you said when you wrote this. Much of it is still true, especially about Kevin's video workshop.Posted 16th July 2011 at 09:09 AM by eibhlin

PLR lies you cant afford to pay for
check this source Plagiarism.org
for some very interesting information, it is very strict, of course, from a academic view not a legal one, but some good information, the really interesting thing is that most PLR is so bad that you have to completely rewrite it anyway, however that is beside the point, the real point is that you can rewrite it, change it, make it your own and no one can do a thing about it.Posted 1st February 2010 at 06:01 AM by Tim Franklin

PLR lies you cant afford to pay for
Thanks for the info. Was having a similar discussion just the other day on the ability to copyright words.
At what point in rewriting does it go from being theirs to yours? If you are going to rewrite the article anyway, do you need any PLR or any other rights?
I'm curious on this whole PLR thing and legalities. I'm new by the way so trying to figure everything out before doing something wrong or frowned upon.
Thanks,
