I don't think funnels have changed much over the years. You're still turning leads into sales, asking for frequency of sales, leading the buyer to buy higher end products.

Most of the time, I stick with Genesis for blog pages, and OptimizePress for funnel pages and memberships.

There's a pretty big consensus here on Genesis :)

In buying solo ads... you should be clear on your objectives. Are you going for the optins or the sales? It's difficult (challenging) to ask for the sale immediately, unless you have a solid funnel....
