The best way for me has been solo ads, I do some free methods too but they just take such a long time. If you've got the money I'd suggest solo ads every time.

I'd definitely suggest having a think about what your online strengths are. Are you good at writing, or designing graphics? Providing a service is a great way to start.

The ones that have worked best for me are adwords, getting paid to write reviews about a product and building a mailing list with an opt in form.

I use solo ads as a list building method. I wouldn't send them straight to a sales page or try and build a business in IM without a list.
