Yeah. ÆØÅ works in most wordpress themes. And removing the script also makes ÆØÅ work as it should, but it removes most of the beauty of the theme we have chosen. =/
So it really is in the font....

I know it's not the theme itself, but rather the font that needs to support it. And I don't know a whole lot of code, other than what I have teached myself.
