Good way of researching 1 type of long tail keywords. Will be a bit more difficult in some other niches though. But I like the fact that you are not only using the keyword tool like everyone else.

I would probably also check other tools for competition on non-PPC channels. For example it's possible that the competition is low on adwords but for SEO the competition may be completely different.

it's just a backlinking tool. You can use it, just don't overdo it and try to keep the quality high by using quality content and preferably pr1+ sites.
